Hi there

I hope like me many of you here are petrol heads and enjoy all cars and not just one model or brand.

As such lets use this thread for posting videos about cars, motorsport and anything else motoring related.

So let me start with EVO car of the year 2016:

A great watch, no Mustangs sorry.

So if you had to pick one in the video to live with and drive daily, the car is given to you for free, servicing provided, insurance too and your not allowed to sell it ever.

Which one would you take, bear in mind you need to live with it and drive daily.

For me 911R though I absolutely love the idea of that Alfa too.
There are only 2 cars in that group I'd ever consider.
1. Aston Martin
2. Focus RS

This is something Porsche now excel at, they build race cars that drive on the road and do so bloody brilliant.

BMW keep trying and failing, M3 GTS my mate had one, he sold it back to BMW two months later, even I took it out and it was a joke on the road, it felt like it had no springs it was so firm.

The new M4 GTS is no better, again rock solid and only any good on a track!

Whereas Porsche can build a car that goes faster on the track than the BMW by considerable margin and drives 10x better on the road.

Even a regular Boxster, Cayman or 911 are now so capable both road and track, truly epic cars and I can see myself back in a 911 at somepoint something like a GTS, would love a GT3 or R but they are well over 100k and I am not one for financing over half the cost of the vehicle and then paying a small fortune each month.

But I say this to everyone, ever have the chance to own a Porsche then do so, they are such an epic steer they really are.

Yes, really want to own a Porsche one day. The issue is not necessarily the cost of the car but what the other half will let me spend on a car (she's not into cars)!

Although when the next Cayman GT4 is released around 2020 (assuming it doesn't go to 4 cyclinders, which Porsche have said it won't), I'm definitely going to have to be ready as the previous ones sold out so quickly (mainly due to speculators which peed everyone off).

As it stands though, most car manufacturers are currently producing boring crap (especially Audi, which is a shame as they used to produce great cars) but I think this will change in the next few years with the performance car market. I can honestly say the only cars I'd want new at the moment and currently sold in the UK (not limited editions) in order of preference are the Mustang, M2 and 911.

sorry have never liked the look of a Porsche, do they ever change their look?
not a patch on the Mustang, mind you my old Supra's and even MR2 and Crossfire looked way better
just not my cup of tea, I know they are very popular and reliable
my neighbour has one, been out with him in his motor, and he has been out with me in my motor, said he quite liked it :D

Many cars look nicer than Porsche, but not many drive better. :)

Okeedokee, I'll contribute with some V8ery from a few years of active hillclimbing and sprinting.

This one is from my first competitive event, the Three Hills Challenge on the Isle of Man in 2002. This is the part of the TT course leading up from Ramsey on to the mountain

A bit closer to home, this one is Gurston Down near Salisbury

And finally Longleat House

Happy Days! :ford:
