Collected car today, Ashton Gate Bristol, short handover, too much to take on board for sync3 etc. No freebies, no mustang key ring or mug, full tank of fuel but £60 added to purchase price. Small paint chip on bootlid to be fixed later, number plate holders fixed in spite of requesting not to be. All tyres changed to MPSS free due to earlier dealer error. Measured tyre pressures when home, all four different pressures but not one of them correct, I'll get onto that tomorrow. Delivery mileage 10miles. Pictures on above thread. Hope the heatwave continues for a long drive tomorrow.
Congrats, out of interest, what did the on board computer say the tyre pressures were?

Congratulations on the collection! It still amazes me that despite asking the plate holders are still attached, unbelievable really. What was the dealer error that resulted in free MPSS? Just curious! I keep a close eye on my tyre pressures since I had a new one fitted, they do fluctuate quite a bit when driving. Normally sit at 2.2 bar but at any one time, one or more can go up or down by 0.1.
I have documented the error in an earlier thread but basically I discovered 5 and a half months into my order that they had missed off the Custom pack. Resulted in a new order and a two months delay.

From front left clockwise they were 2.4, 2.6, 2.3, 2.3. my mechanical PCL gauge read them all 0.1 higher. I thought it was a bit firm on the drive home. I'll see if they change after a drive today and cool again.

Collected my car and couldn't be happier. One exception: when inside doing the paperwork, a punter and his son jumped in my car as it was sitting in prime spot outside on the forecourt.

I spotted it and my wife was off like a shot with a polite "are you enjoying my new car? I haven't even had a chance to sit in it yet!!". They quickly got the message.

Dealer in Inverness was great to me, send me a video of the car when it arrived, no issue holding it for a few weeks until the new registration year and got a bunch of flowers for the Mrs and a full tank for me. A couple of dealership keyrings thrown in for good measure. Plates were stuck on as agreed and plastic holders put in the boot.

Must be all the money we're paying in England keeping the Scottish economy above water lol.
Why the hell can't all the dealers be that good. Well done mate and congrats:clap2:

So having received a wiring loom recall letter my relationship with Ford Service begins.
My dealer is 80 miles away so that's a 160 mile round trip and the nearest FordStore is 40 miles away but wasn't inspired by them when I popped in recently. Given that this is likely to be unnecessary and that the letter states any Ford Authorised Dealer I thought I'd try the local dealership, no more than a good 5 iron from my work.
Started out positively but then some confirmation of parts was required.
Turns out there are some vehicles that they can't work on and I'll get a call back tomorrow to confirm.
So we all know what the outcome of this is going to be even if my local Ford dealer doesn't :frusty:

I'm beginning to wish I had placed my order with Inverness instead of Perth. They are displaying all the signs of being useless already and I only placed my order three weeks ago. :(

service what service

Taken from another post, but you get the idea -

So I eventually get hold of my so called Mustang specialist dealer service department,

Me - I need to book my Mustang in to be looked at re the ESC & hill start
service book says to contact your dealer asap to have it looked at

Dealer - what's your reg, did you buy it from us etc, etc
ok the Mustangs are so new we will need to see it  ( no sh*t)
Takes more details,
Ok I can book it in for the end of October !:doh:

Me - I'M not supposed to drive it until you see it !

D - sorry we are really busy with the diagnostic machine

Me - (slowly losing the will to live) are you serious?

D - why don't you try one of our other branches who may be less busy

Me - The car is a Mustang !
there is only you and Fordthorne in Cardiff who can sell and do warranty work on them in all of South Wales

D - Oh - do you want me to book you in for the end of October then

This is not a small dealer, largest in Wales by a mile, with many large branches and a big turnover.

Rang my supplying dealer in Swindon same story, and pretty much the same response (granted a lot more professional though)

So I go check the car again, no surprise the warnings have gone,
and the noise looks like small twig/branch stuck by wheels !
so will keep a look out for future warning signs.

The moral of this story (as if we didn't know) is the dealer after service is a
SHOWER OF SH*T !

Will be cancelling my service contract at my local dealer (for which I will lose money) and driving to Mike and the boys in Sunny Oxfordshire
(a 7 hour round trip) to service and do any other works required,

I will use the dealer only as a absolute last resort for warranty work,

Love the car but when you spend 35k + on a car you expect a better service

Not good WT. I wonder how long it will be before Ford are in a good position to support these? 6 months? A year? 2, 5 years? Who knows. I still cant get over the fact they didn't hold oil filters for them when I went in to get mine checked. That was the last time I went - a week later I was in Modurstang with Mike, who did my first service and an oil change. You won't be disappointed going out to see him.

Well I had my first Ford dealer experience since I bought the car today and it was surprisingly good.

My change oil light came on so I took the car in to Allen Ford Northampton to see if it needed changing or just resetting.

As I'm only 1000 miles from my first service they were quite happy to simply reset the alert rather than try to convince me to pay for an oil change. Nice sensible approach I thought, and was in and out in 10 mins. Also asked them to order a new pony puddle light as mine has given up.

Have booked in a service for 2 weeks time and will hope my next dealing is as smooth as this one...

Much better today. Had an email from the regional director of Evans Halshaw detailing the cars they can offer me for immediate delays very and a phone call from my local dealer principle to arrange a courtesy car until my replacement mustang is delivered.

So what's it to be. My race red replacement car or the magnetic that's in UK stock for immediate delivery?

Tough one...go with your original choice. My first choice was magnetic, changed my mind so many times but in the end i'm glad I stuck with my original choice :)

Had a phone call from my dealer (car, not drug). The original "Mustang guy" has left :clap2: to go to another brand and hopefully to find his arse and elbow. He's the one who insulted Karen and Stacey having owned up to the fact that he could have got info but "couldn't be arsed".

The new guy asked if everything was going OK with my car. I gave him the list we all have memorised (see posts passim), and commented that I'd documented them in the three surveys Ford had sent me, but with no follow up. He said 'yes, but apart from that; everything great'? Which of course it is.

His explanation for the various issues we have experienced was....

"Basically with the Mustang you are paying for an engine; everything else is potluck"

So, there we have it.
