the II gen ('74-'78) had Machs but no GTs either. There's a lot of hate for the poor IIs, but I love my '76.Mach 1 replaced GT for many years.
Mach 1- '69-'78, '03-'04
No GT- '70-'83
Only made GT & Mach 1 in '69, '03 & '04
**probably have my dates wrong. I'm not a historian. sorry if they're wrong.
That said, I think there's room for Mach1 (or Boss) between GT & GT350. But I don't think Ford has a bigger engine.
Which engine do you have in mind?
Oh, and if it's pre-refresh, it can look just like this
Hmm looks a lot like mine...Oh, and if it's pre-refresh, it can look just like this
They make GREAT drag cars tho...the II gen ('74-'78) had Machs but no GTs either. There's a lot of hate for the poor IIs, but I love my '76.
What is this a car for ants! Where does the driver sit! (Zoolander reference)Oh, and if it's pre-refresh, it can look just like this
Yes, Ford will make a Mustang with a V6 that makes the GT inferior in power. Not yet dammit!! It's too soon for that.:frusty:Maybe the Mach1 engine would have a twin turbo 6 cylinder getting hp/torque between the GT and GT350?
I hope your wrong. Mach 1 is a legacy name with specific original intentions. Why bring it back and not make it reminiscent of its past?Maybe the Mach1 engine would have a twin turbo 6 cylinder getting hp /torque between the GT and GT350?
I would have been fine with an Ecoboost V6 to replace the V6, not a 4-banger.Actually I was hoping for that this year, it would be a great defeat into the next generation Pony.
Me too, I probably would have gotten the V6 ecoboost.I would have been fine with an Ecoboost V6 to replace the V6, not a 4-banger.
Some of us want to live in the future.I hope your wrong. Mach 1 is a legacy name with specific original intentions. Why bring it back and not make it reminiscent of its past?
Because modern society and the government and CAFE and all those A-holes don't give a rats ass about heritage and tradition. They only care and reducing emissions and ruining a good name. As much as I hope it doesn't, I wouldn't be surprised if it did come with something that isn't a V8.I hope your wrong. Mach 1 is a legacy name with specific original intentions. Good post. Might as well ruin the name, just like the country. They should use Mach 1 as a package on a Fiesta.Because modern society and the government and CAFE and all those A-holes don't give a rats ass about heritage and tradition. Most enthusiast care about big engines and tradition, the majority do not.
:(
And it won't stop until every car is running some quad-turbo 3-cylinder or V-twin or all cars are nothing more than boxes on wheels and driverless and all that other crap.
The end is nigh. Who knows how far into the future it'll be, but it's getting closer.
