Parking the GT350R in a garage

Yes, scraping the splitter is pretty much inevitable.

I priced out a front splitter as I always like to have spare parts around and the best price that I could come up with was $1119.00 plus tax.

With the number of R model enthusiasts on here maybe we should possibly look at a group purchase from FP or whatever dealership would work with us best?

Must be sourced from a Defense Contractor! Seems to me, someone should be able to produce an aftermarket version, preferably without the letters molded in. I'd be a buyer of the non-R equivalent.

I believe they are protecting the R. Otherwise, everyone would buy the R splitter and the rest of it and convert a standard 350.

Is an air bag suspension an option? I don't know much about them but it would seem like something you could automatically raise up a few inches?

Be careful, some people on the forum will want to murder you for putting air bags on the GT350.

Does it affect the handling? I really know nothing about air bags.Just seemed like a smart thing to say.

Scraping the bottom of your splitter is a GT350 ownership right of passage. If one hasn't scraped it, they're not driving it hard enough! LOL :lol:

Joking aside... having someone spot the car, while you try different angles or reversing in, are your best bets.

If you had looked a few months back, they were asking over $4k for it.

I just nailed my splitter.... going in to Starbucks right outside NAS Oceana, VA. One of the ZL1 washers became loose from the impact. Will order two of these.... just in case.

One thing I've learned is that the nose sticks out much further than I usually anticipate when pulling into a parking spot, so I end up carefully pulling in and then getting out to check how far i have to go. Pain in the ass, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Even with doing this I scraped my splitter on the underside yesterday, was mad at myself that I wasn't more careful but was glad that there was no real visible damage.

I wish ford would install some type of sensor in front, but I doubt that will happen on a race car. Really the easiest way to park is just to back in when you can.

Driveways you just need to take at an angle if at all possible.
