A tune isn't just another "mod" per se. The tune is the key element that ties all of your mods together. To make it short, yes a tune is very much worth it. I've been enjoying the hell out of my Unleashed 93 Oct tune. :D

I've been battling this bug for a long time myself. Sport+ and the GT TB have kept me at bay from ruining my warranty. If you get a premium bezel, I can unlock track modes for you.

Don't forget to check out JDM Engineering as well. They are a strong contender and they are active in this forum.

Thanks for the tag. We offer tuning for the 15+ V6 and have seen great results. Transmission shifting and pressures are night and day difference, throttle response is much faster, gas mileage is better and power is increased. We also sent Larry1990 I believe on here a tune for his v6 with a 100 shot of nitrous. All of our customers are very happy with their tunes and have nothing but great things to say! http://www.teamjdm.com/2015-2017-v6-mustang-custom-tuning-1/

I have a 15 V6 auto 51A premium, installed a Pedal MAX, SCTx4 93 tune which you can go to the menu and change your idle and redline 7200 rpm's, increase the shifting firmness of your auto from factory to +25% in all gears. This combo makes the V6 very quick off the line and through the gears to top end. I've had this combo for 2 years and very pleased.

The tuners say anywhere around 20-30 hp gains stock I believe. The more mods you have that the tuners can optimize could give you a couple more. Honestly it's probably the most gains you can get for the money. Hard part is deciding on which tuner to go with lol. I have a bama tune it's alright probably gonna see what mpt or jdm has to offer this summer. Good luck!

If the new tunes increase power AND seemingly increase MPG...

Why is the stock tune just so poor?

When you're building 100,000's of units of one particular model and it has a 5 year 60,000 mile powertrain warranty, there are other things to consider besides just power and mpg's.. like reliability and longevity. All manufacturers play it safe on the engine calibration to some extent and leave a little something on the table.. Everything is a compromise in mass production.
