Was just called by my sales guy (for waiting R order) and was told it is moving to scheduled (from unscheduled material hold). :cheers:He also advised that Ford is announcing today that GT350 production will go into MY 2017. From his email:

""Today Ford announced that the GT-350 will continue to be built in 2017. Yes, your patience has been tried with this ordered sports car. One of the benefits of your long wait is that several production concerns have been addressed. Estimated production over these 2 years is still 3,600 GT-350s so the car will qualify for Manufactures stock class road racing. Looking forward to next Thursday's update. "

I can, pretty much, assure you that the wait for your R will be worth it. How'd you order yours?

Figured this would happen. My sales guy assured me numerous times over they wouldn't be producing these in 2017. Maybe this is due to the slow production?

Either way a call to my sales guy is coming.

Considering the Boss program ran for 2 years and the GT350 has vastly more specialized parts, it was silly to ever believe that they'd only produce the GT350 for less than one calendar year.

They've always planned to make them for 2016 and 2017. All the dealers that were in the allocation program had knowledge of this. No one knows for sure beyond 2017.

Not true, some do know.

I spent all of July calling over 30 dealers in GA to find a confirmed R allocation. Of those ~30 dealers, only about 8 had any allocations and only about 4 had Rs. From what I hear on this forum, for a guy with no connections, apparently I did pretty well (re price). :headbang:

Just hope they hurry up cuz I keep looking at other new cars. Had a couple CTSV coupes in the past and haven been drooling over the new ATSV coupe. I need a DD and can't wait forever for a new car fix. (no, GT350 is only a track car for me, but will feed my need for a time):headbonk:

Sounds like he was just lying to make you feel more exclusive with your car. With the money invested in developing the car they would need at least a full 2 year run. Plus one might assume there would be a 2018 GT500 and phase out the 350. Here's hoping to only a 2 year 350 run!

I wouldn't even call it 2 years so far. It was 1 full model year plus 137 cars. I think the word always was at least until 2017 from the start too

That's assuming they wouldn't use the same GT350 look (most of the same parts but the engine) in a GT500 that could come after though.

I spent all of July calling over 30 dealers in GA to find a confirmed R allocation. Of those ~30 dealers, only about 8 had any allocations and only about 4 had Rs. Most were asking $10-25K ADM. I finally agreed to $10K, but the sales manager wanted a day at Atlanta Motorsports Park (AMP). I am a founding member there and have additional connections there. I agreed and he dropped to $5K over. From what I hear on this forum, for a guy with no connections, apparently I did pretty well (re price). :headbang:

Congrats man.

But being that your a founding member at AMP I would say you have connections. That extra swag is what saved you 5k. Like they always say, use what you got to get what you want.

Sorry, I meant that I had no Ford connections.

I must chuckle. First of all never heard before there wouldn't be a MY 2017 so surprised that it's just being announced. Second, puts the "they'll build all they can sell" guys in a tizzy. Third, only time I've seen any mention of a 3600 total build number. Previously was always 5000 non-Rs per year. So from 10,000 down to 3600 total? Does any one really know what is going on?:frusty:
