Two questions to those with the MMD Series V Grille:

1. How is the overall fitment -- are there any gaps or spaces compared to the OEM grille?

2. I found this pic on American Muscle. Does anyone know how they created the back mesh behind the MMD grille? Looks a lot cleaner than just looking back and seeding the radiator.

Fitment was spot on for me. No gaps or anything. For the mesh, they probably used the grille's mounting tabs.

Love mine. No fitment issues at all.... Love the aggressive look it gives.

It seems like the best overall aftermarket grille. Intelligent design, subtle, yet powerful.

I'm really curious what material and technique was used to create the mesh behind it.

The only thing I dislike about the MMD grille "stock" is being able to see the radiator so prominently.

You could always spray the silver parts with some high temp flat black paint..that's what I will do someday when I change grills....

So figured it out.

This guy used autogoop and a sheet of mesh from CustomCarGrills.com to do the overlay.

Apparently CustomCarGrills provides a few precut sheets for the S550 for those that want to delete the honeycomb.

This feels like overkill. It does hide the interior a bit and add protection for the radiator.

I might have to add some mesh to mine, doesn't seem too bad to do.

I'm just debating the utility. Eg, if it falls off when cleaning.

I think overall it makes it look better for those of us that doesn't want to see our radiator when we look at the front.

I did a GT grille set with the CCG mesh and goop. That stuff isn't going anywhere. Its been in temps from 70 to -10 within a span of a few weeks, been through a rough carwash that beats it with those huge felt strips, rain, snow, etc. Its solid as a rock.
