I told myself I would content myself with an older Mustang (11-14 S197, etc)...but if a new Mach were to come out...that might just toss all that out the window.
Yep, I've always said my S197 was for life, but a new Mach 1 would seriously test my resolve to keep her

Oh heck, who am I kidding. I knew I was in trouble the first time I test drove an S550......but I've held strong so far :p

I test drove the s550 and was hard pressed to keep my s197 as well.... luckily my wife loves my Shelby so much that she wants a stang now..... and looks like she prefers the s550.. so I guess that solves my current issue.

Now the new issue.... what model s550 :p

I believe we're scheduled to hear officially at 0900 hrs on 7th January 2017*

(* I may have just made that up......it's my birthday that day, so it'd make for a cool present :D )

On a slightly more serious note.............absolutely no idea! I would assume, given '17s are already hitting the lots, that the Mach 1 will be based on the '18MY face lift car. I'd expect that car to be launched in Detroit in January, so hopefully we'll start to see camo'd cars in the next few months. Hopefully one of those camo'd cars will look a little different (quad exhaust, etc) so that would, hopefully, indicate it's the Mach 1.

I guess Ford may decide to launch the facelifted Ecoboost/V6/GT first, then roll out the Mach 1 a few months later to keep the interest/press coverage spread out a little.

:)
Happy Birthday!

So I called my contact at Rich Ford and he denied a Mach1 rumor. When I pressed about the facebook note, he implied that someone must have faked it. So there you go.

Thanks for chasing it.

Hmmmm, I can appreciate they'd keep quiet "face to face" but I don't believe someone faked that Facebook post. Like most things Facebook.....it's designed to get traffic to their site. So, I guess it could be fake news.

Guess we'll know soon enough!

Well...bitter news but not entirely surprising there. The rumor mill had cooled to basically absolute zero over the past couple of months.

Thanks for that update, 69 Mach1.

Did you talk to someone at Rich Ford or hyperstangs? I'd try and get ahold of "Jeff" if you can (if that wasn't who you talked to)

I spoke to 'a' Jeff but not sure what his last name is.
We probably shouldn't figure this out here, so PM me...

I guess have to wait longer for a Mach 1? 2019 not 2018...

Can someone with PS skills change the 18's hood vents to NACA ducts? Just wondering if a Mach 1 version would make the hood look better.
