I just hate the cables or being able to see it really.
This shouldn't be an issue if it's hardwired and installed correctly.

Mine is very unobtrusive unless you're looking for it.

I never thought I'd want a dashcam but after some of the things I've seen this week in Brisbane, I'm considering one.

Yeh proper install is pretty discreet. This is mine looking from the driver's seat. Mine's a Thinkware F770 and you can barely see it in the photo. The bottom right of the rear view mirror you can see a bit of it. The cable just go next to the rain sensor.

A Street Guardian SG9665GC tucks behind the rear view mirror nicely and is very discreet - it is a small all-black unit, and the screen turns itself off automatically.

I have read there is the option of hard-wiring it into the power for the rear view mirror, but the cables hide well enough in the head liner and weather stripping.

First proper near miss caught on my F770 dashcam.
What a dickhead.

Had there been a collision and the inevitable "he said, she said" scenario, that footage could well have been the difference between having to cough up an excess or not.

These gadgets are worth their weight in gold.

No swearing?! Good self control!
I'll say.

I would have been letting fly big time.

Nicely avoided.

Just curious, was anyone behind you? Where I am, a move like that typically means there's plenty of room behind you but they can't be bothered backing off and dropping in behind as it'd hold them up for a second.

Yes, nicely avoided!

Had a BMW X4 do that to me recently, coming up to the Derby St traffic lights near Nepean Hospital.

Was in the Territory at the time. Honestly, a lot of people shouldn't be allowed to drive.

Always best to avoid a collision if possible.
