Do it like normal. Soap, rinse, dry if you can. Don't use the wax.

All you are trying to do now is keep contaminants off until you've got the gear to do a proper job
You had mentioned being able to get everything at Autozone, what specifically were you referring to?...I plan on ordering the grid guard, washboard and one of the green microfiber/shag looking mitts...that combo is $25 shipped on ebay.

But still not sure which soap and wax/sealer/etc....to get.

From reading through the other threads in this specific forum it looks like there is a different cleaning regiment/system for the other parts of the car...wheels, plastics, tires, glass, etc.

Right now I'm only worried about the paint/clear coat. I guess I'll come back after I decide on a soap/wax and take care of the others.

Thanks

I'd go with Meguires Gold Class soap as previously mentioned. Then something like Blackfire Wet Over Ice combo for the sealer. Then Blackfire makes a rinseless wash and spray wax for maintenance.
