Installing a PP2 with a buddy and had some issues.

Dont ask how but we broke a head off a bolt that connects the gt350 Throttle body to the adapter plate in the kit. We were using a cheap torque wrench and all the setting were good to go...just snapped off. So now im trying to figure where to buy those bolts.

Also one of the clips on a vacuum line to the intake broke using just my fingernails on the clasp.
My photos keep failing to upload but ill post some soon

Buyer beware! Or as some might say, caveat emptor! The deviation on cheap torque wrenches can be quite wide. I frequently returned new high-cost torque wrenches to the manufacturer because they didn't meet standards and could not be calibrated by PMEL.

I profess that I don't know the torque value of the throttle body to adapter plate, but would guess it's measured in in. lbs. Did you use a wrench designed for ft. lbs.?

Autoparts store should have clips for the vacuum hose.

I just tightened it with a 1/4 socket wrench until it felt good and snug. I guess I have just removed and reinstalled enough parts that I have a feel for it now.

You do realize 360 inch pounds is 30 ft/lbs and is way beyond the torque figure for those bolts which is 89 inch lbs or 7.4 ft/lbs

I have a habbit of checking the torque wrench at lowest and 1/2 targeted torque at least 10 times for smooth operation before using 100% of the torque spec.

I dont have the directions on me, but i believe the bolts from the throttle body to the adapter are 62 ft/lbs...it was a brand new cheap tq wrench so i wanted to gradually walk it up

I sure hope that 62 ft/lbs is a typo and should have been 62 in/lbs!

theyre basic m6 x 1.0 bolts, not sure on the length, but should be an easy find at lowes or home depot, also snugged up by hand is all thats needed a tq wrench isn't necessary.

I just happen to have them in front of me. For future reference:

Page 7 - Throttle body adapter bolts are torqued to 7 ft. lbs.
Page 8 - Throttle body is two step process. Step 1 62 lb in or 7NM. Step 2 tighten an additional 60 degrees.

Just for an easy visual... 60 degrees is the corner of an equilateral triangle.

also lb-in / 12 = lb-ft

Generally small bolts are usually a little more than hand tight. Unless its tty bolt. This has been my experience from 18 years of wrench turning. Especially with aluminum.
