Hello from Germany,
can everbody help me?
I have the Mustang my2016 with Sync 2 and the
9 Speaker System, EU Modell.
I have buy a oem Subwoofer and install it with the oem cable
in the trunk. In my Trunk is the Plug for the Sub.
But he work no!
Whats the Problem???
12 V are present, the Fuse is working.
Is it a proplem from the head Unit?
Does it have to be reprogrammed?
Or a different plug has to be installed?

Thanks Alex

If you have the 9-speaker system and your car did not come from the factory with the subwoofer, then you do not have the proper power and signal wires in the trunk (do not have the Molex plugs). The wiring harness is different in cars that come with a subwoofer from the factory. You will have to figure out how to get power and signal wires for the amp that you will install. Signal is easy. Power not so much. But if you have ever installed an amplifier and subwoofer in a car before, it's an easy problem to fix.

See the link in my signature for how I handled this problem. Hopefully it gives you some insight or ideas on how to integrate a sub into you system.

Ah, you have an EU-spec car, right? Maybe the wiring harnesses are different between US and EU spec cars? I honestly don't know.

The harness is there, but the signal for the sub is not.
Bypass the amp on the sub and install a small 100 watt amp signalled off the rear speakers.
You may be able to install the new amp in the same spot as the factory unit, if you get a small 2 channel amp.

Seems at this point it would be a waste to put in the factory sub since it sucks anyway. Go aftermarket and be happy. You can still use factory enclosure if you want.
