Are you passionate about modifying Ford Mustangs and going to track days? Do you want to work with as much freedom as possible while you build and lead your own department? If you're determined to find a job that combines your automotive passion and your entrepreneurial spirit, then this is your chance! APEX Race Parts is seeking an enthusiast to prominently establish us in the Ford Mustang market.

As our Mustang Market Pioneer, you'll use your passion and expertise to grow APEX's share of the market from a small outpost into a thriving metropolis by continually searching for new product opportunities. As the market grows and day-to-day work gets distracting, you'll recruit and hire others to help support what you've already established so you can continue with your journey of expanding our territory.

It's a journey that only very entrepreneurial people are equipped for. Pioneers basically run their own mini businesses within APEX with the benefit of leaning on our established tools and resources. A Pioneer's primary focus is to grow their respective markets as fast as possible while maintaining APEX's well known and praised customer service standards. A solid foundation of documented fitment knowledge must be established so that new revenue sources don't crumble as you move on to the next opportunity. Prior sales experience is not required. An enthusiast with direct track experience will perform much better than a salesperson who's only attended car meets.

Our Mustang Market Pioneer is:
  • A truly passionate Mustang enthusiast, whose friends would easily define them as such
  • Broadly familiar with and understands Mustang performance parts and proper vehicle setup from suspension and brakes to alignment. We'll give you a Ph.D. in wheel/tire setup, but you should already have an A.A. degree in modifying cars.
  • Not a track newbie. They have experience with track days, autocrosses or competitive events.
  • An active member of online forums, and intimately familiar with the Mustang-specific forums.
  • Very entrepreneurial, and willing to wear every hat necessary to succeed.
  • Self-motivated and thrives in a high risk/reward environment with no income cap, where the limits to success rest on their own shoulders.
  • An excellent leader who can select, support and motivate their team.
  • A great salesperson with strong ethics and integrity who sells without using aggressive or annoying sales tactics.
  • Known for their exceptionally high customer service skills that earns them mountains of positive reviews and referrals.
  • Passionate about writing; they're known for creating blog posts, DIY threads, articles, publications, with examples to prove it.
  • Articulate with extremely clear written and verbal communication skills. Grammar Nazis welcome.
  • Equipped with marketing street smarts so that all public communication represents the brand's standards.

Our Mustang Market Pioneer will:
  • Get hands-on with the community by engaging in all the relevant forums, where you'll answer questions, maintain our commercial threads, post guides, and become well-known, respected, and sought-after for advice
  • Provide customers with detailed wheel/tire/suspension/brake fitment recommendations and product education over the phone and through our CRM system
  • Survey and interview the community in search of new product release opportunities
  • Conduct and thoroughly document on-car test fitments to validate new solutions
  • Work with Engineering to finalize new fitments and products
  • Work with Marketing to build new product release material
  • Setup, and manage Group Buys to pre-sell products using our tools
  • Work with our Production Manager to ensure products are produced on time
  • Automate customer education by drafting extremely thorough technical fitment guides and work with Marketing to turn them into finished tutorials and product pages
  • Reduce incoming questions by continually updating fitment guides and product pages
  • Hire, train, and manage a team of product experts
  • Eventually expand our product catalog by adding complementary parts and accessories

Our Mustang Market Pioneer gets a cookie if they:
  • Have photography skills
  • Have a relevant project car that keeps them engaged and in tune with the community

Perks and Benefits:
  • Competitive compensation & generous benefits package
  • Work in your underwear - Telecommuting supported
  • You don't have to be local but you will need to travel to shops and tracks in your area
  • Support your track addiction with reimbursements for HPDE and autocross event registration fees
  • Eligibility for the SEMA college grant and loan forgiveness program
  • Take your photography hobby to a new level by playing around in our crazy big cyclorama studio
