Well just made the switch. Then I saw a post by an Amsoil distributor that the fill should be 2 Qts Synchromesh with 1Qt Severe Gear. Anyone running this combo? Or is everyone just running straight Synchromesh?

I'll be running straight synchromesh when my car finally arrives. Post up a link on the reasoning behind supplementing with severe gear if you can find one. You have me interested.

Not a lot from him. One of the guys running the "mixture" says he was told straight Synchromesh was to thin.

Do most of you guys just order your Amsoil directly from their website?

I order all of my oil from them directly. Sign up for their preferred customer and you will get 25% off.

I am trying to run this also, what weight do I order for the Manual Syncromech Transmission fluid, and what weight for the manual gear lube?

I recently switched from Amsoil to BG and I like BG better.

Interested in this thread. I just passed 20,000 miles on my 15' GT M6. I have not changed any fluid other than motor oil (Mobil 1 Synthetic). Recently, I'm getting more and more frustrated by the transmission. Clunky shifts, feeling like I get locked out of a gear once in a while, most recently with reverse.

I've been looking at shifter/bushing options but perhaps I should start with a fluid change. Would those of you running Amsoil (and or something else) say that it has made a big difference over the Ford fluid?

I changed to RP and love it, but run AMSOIL for the diff and engine oil. Only reason I didn't go AMSOIL for the trans was because back when I purchased AMSOIL told me specifically they don't recommend any of their products for our transmission, but I am sure that in retrospect that was just for liability purposes since Ford says we are supposed to use that DTC stuff.

I changed my oil, diff and trans fluids this weekend at 2500 miles. I did 2 Qts Synchromesh with 1Qt Severe Gear in the trans based on what I had read on another thread about the recommendation also.So far she shifts smooth, no complaints.

I might drain some and try this.
Since switching from the Ford fill to the straight Amsoil Synchromesh I am having more grinding in 1-2 shifts and fifth. The Ford fill was better IMO.
