For the PP2 that sounds like the initial post (in that other thread) guessing MPH wasn't to far off.According to someone (I forgot his name ) at Ford Performance Techline who looked up the specs this morning the MT82-D4 used in the 2018 5.0 Mustang gear ratios are:
3.24, 2.10, 1.42, 1, .81, and .62
Conversely for SCCA FS autocrossers who have been dealing with the stump puller 2nd gear and the track 3rd gear 2nd will look pretty good.Obviously I would need to drive one to come to a reasonably conclusion but on paper I do not like those ratios. The MT-82 + 3.73's was definitely not for everyone, but man it felt sweet going WOT through the lower gears especially 3-4.
From '11-17:What are the ratios for the 2015 - 17 M82? Significantly different?
Actually I think that is a pretty good ratio. The 15-17 first 5 gears are a bit too close where 5-6 is too tall.According to someone (I forgot his name ) at Ford Performance Techline who looked up the specs this morning the MT82-D4 used in the 2018 5.0 Mustang gear ratios are:
3.24, 2.10, 1.42, 1, .81, and .62
The 18's are trapping at 117-118 so you will have to shift to fourth.I like the new ratios. Who wants to be shifting gears like theyre driving a peterbilt lol. Two shifts and all you gotta do is wind out 3rd for a 1/4 mile run.
Well after just a couple of mods they may be.We used to have this same problem with the Mach 1's. Guys would have to bounce it off the fuel cut off because shifting into 4th actually lost time and mph. Is 7400 the soft red line or fuel cut off for the '18? Also we don't know if the manuals will trap as high as the automatics but we'll know soon.
6th in the 10A on oem diameter tires. The 18's are trapping at 117-118 so you will have to shift to fourth.
