I don't think you can really compare the looks of a 17 next to an 18 if they are not the same color.

I like the upper and lower grills of the 15-17, but prefer the headlights of the 18. Bottom half of the 18 front looks just a bit too busy. Between the 2, a bit of a wash for me. I think both look great overall.

Having said that, I do have an 18 on order.

2018 mustang its looking beautiful and loving the new dash look. Cannot forget about the boost on the power, great job Ford.

I just wish the 18 didn't have those awful stuck on looking hood scoops. It would have been better if they left the eco without them, so at least you could have the option to swap that hood on a gt and have a nice clean look.

That isn't even a PP car and seemed to handle itself pretty well on that track.

Seeing lots of pictures of privately owned 2018s now I can say I'm fully on board with the new styling, all the things I disliked I actually like a lot more now. I still think it's dumb that the grill is gloss black and the front bumper area is matte black but not a big deal.

Pretty sure they did that to match how it looks on the back (gloss between tail lights, matte rear lower bumper)

It was still a bad idea, and I plan on making all of them matte black.

That does make sense, although it still seems nobody likes how it turned out.

Actually Ford Europe is currently showing their Orange Fury Fastback in a car show at the Autoworld museum in Brussels and I noticed when I went to see it today that they have painted the bottom grille/insert gloss black too.

I think this is just a one off treatment to spice up the demo car though.

I think that concept would have worked if the grill didn't flow from the upper to the lower portion, tied together by the diagonals. The fact that there are two sections of grill and they don't match just isn't right.
But my '18 is on order... I assume somebody will come out with a gloss black lower portion to match the upper...

I'd pay to swap in the gloss black piece. Looks much better. Hopefully someone offers it next year.

You have any idea how long it'll be on display ?

Hope the glossy lower grill will just make it on the EU export cars as standard.
