I think most of the forced induction setups make too much power for a daily driven street car on STREET tires to handle. When I use flight control on my Whipple to take 25% out, the car still makes 480 rwhp and 390 ft-lbs. At that level I can actually use gears 1-3 without going up in smoke and sideways.

If I were to do it all over again, I'd probably get a GT350 and leave it bone stock knowing how my current car feels with the Whipple dialed back. Plenty quick enough with much better handling and stout transmission. However, 4th gear pulls with 3.73 gears and the Whipple on full power is fantastic and makes it much easier to live with my decision.

I originally thought I'd order my car with the supercharger, exhaust and steeda stop-the-hop components; have everything installed by the dealer and financed as one package and be done with it. One year and 7,000 miles later I have all the extra mods in my sig either to help make the MT-82 better or handle the power from the Whipple. Price of car, parts, and labor, I'm in for just about $60,000. I'm still not going to run it at the track until I get axles, wheels, and radials, which will set me back another 2-3 grand.

Don't regret one bit. Be prepared for it to be a handful on the street though. Any kind of street tire and 1st gear is completely useless all of the time. 2nd gear is mostly useless. And if it's not sunny with warm road, 3rd gear can get interesting real quick.

Highway trips to Mexico sure are a blast! Lol

for lower risk, you could shop for a S/C that will run a 91 octane tune and then buy 93 octane fuel.

I think it’s not a problem with going forced induction i think what plays a major factor is who tunes your car & the peramiters your car is set at and proper maintenance i made my choice on who my tuner is based on availability/reputation i can call and email and have a response in no time.

Certainly regretted a few decisions along the path, but no doubt boost is the way to go.
