I just noticed that for 3-4K more than the 2018 GT I'm looking at I can get a used GT350.

What would be the pros/cons to using a GT350 as a daily? I don't have the space for 2 cars.

I'd imagine the GT350 will have a higher resale value than a GT. It has more power, looks better, has a flat plane crank. No auto though so if you sit in traffic most of the time it will suck.

But also get the GT350.

No brainer to me, the depreciation in the next few years will play in favor of the used gt350, cons. Not first owner, higher fuel consumption, shorter warranty
Pros too many to list, drive one

The Shelby is superior in virtually every tangible way. Nothing wrong with the GT but they really are not an apples to apples comparison. The GT350 gets compared to the Porsche GT3, very high praise.

I usually keep a car till its dead or totaled so resale isn't huge for me, just a nicety. I'm also the odd type that does DC and NYC traffic with a stick and doesn't complain lol.

Is the 5.2 more "needy" maintenance wise?

I really wanted a 350, but wanted a convertible more. My other main reason is I knew I was gonna mod it and didnt want to do that to the 350.

To see if I should order a GT350 I drove a 2016 GT Performance Pack car. I loved it. For daily driving Iā€™d argue that the GT is perhaps a better car; torque where you need it, not too precious to pile the miles on, cheaper to insure, auto if you drive in stop and go traffic.

But a GT isnā€™t a GT350. Do it.

Well, the main pro is that you get to drive a GT350 every day. It has a special look, feel, sound, power-band, etc. I daily drive mine and, besides the Recaro seats' ingress/egress being a little challenging, I'm surprised at how easy it is to drive. The clutch/shifter weighting is light, as is the steering when set to comfort, and the ride, though not exactly supple, is comfortable.

The cons are few, but there is some additional drivetrain NVH from the GT350's FPC V8 that the GT probably won't have - piston slap, engine vibration, etc. Also, the engine's torque under 2K rpm is a bit soft, so dropping a gear or two is sometimes necessary for ample acceleration/passing power.

To your mileage point, I do 12-13 miles a day. I've never had to do an emissions inspection since 2007. :-)

10,000+ miles in and over a year later, my car's value is still sitting at MSRP.

GT350s Magneride make it a better daily driver. More unique, holds value better (you'll still come out financially better resale wise). I say 350.

getting a barebone 17 GT make sense. 1/2 the price (dealers are blowing out 17, $27k all day), 80% of performance. 18 GT don't make much sense...wait a year, price will drop a ton on an 18 GT.

When you drive a GT350, you might get an orgasm. When you drive a GT, you might get a smile.

If its a maybe on driving either car, purchasing either is a bad choice.
