So, just received my MGW GT350 shifter conversion arm kit and it is freaking beautiful! It is a new arm to swap out with one that comes in race spec mustang kit but has the proper threads for the GT350 shifter knob, new proper sized jam nut color matched to GT350 shifter knob and the specific jam nut wrench to get it done.

George has hit a home run with this and I can't wait to get this installed later today. I will attemp to get pictures this afternoon but have t had luck lately uploading.

Nice! Can't wait to get my setup. George is putting together my Race Spec shifter with the GT350 shaft so I can install my unmodified GT350 shift knob. :headbang:

This is the difference between the GT race speck handle and the new GT350 handle that can retrofit on the race speck. The GT350 handle is shorter to make up for the taller GT350 knob.

Finally got my MGW with GT350 Shaft & GT350 Shift Knob installed earlier this weekend. HUGE improvement over the stock shifter.

Long gap between posts but I'm just doing this mod now...

I didn't see anyone mention that the M12 x 1.25 tap can be found on Amazon cheap (like $10 delivered). Standard taps have about 4-5 incomplete lead-in threads at the end; bottoming taps have only 1-2 incomplete threads, meaning you will get a couple more usable threads if you use a bottoming tap. Not sure if that makes a difference in this application though.

Also, you can use a 7/16" (.438") diameter drill instead of a 27/64" (.422") diameter drill if that's all you have. It will be easier to tap but the knob will fit a little looser (75% thread depth vs 50% thread depth).

When you tap the threads, put a little motor oil on the tap for lubrication. Turn the tap by hand a couple turns, then back it out a half turn to break up the metal chips and keep the cutting edges clean.

Blow out the newly cut threads with compressed air if you can, when you're done.
