Anyone ever have this problem yet with their long tube headers? my passenger side header kept rattling and noticable inside the car so i had it back in the shop and on the lift and in one part of the header was touching the frame and there is nothing the shop can do cause thats how they lined up. manufactures problem? Drivers side has plenty of clearance and no issues.

Loosen the mounts and shift the motor towards the driver side.

This.

lol @ you get what you pay for. All you have to do is adjust the way the motor sits a bit. It doesn't sit perfect from the factory.

You can shift the cross member over a little too.

MBRP has top notch customer service too.

A dimple won't hurt anything, if needed.

Sorry to bring this thread back from the dead, but you’re telling me I can just loosen or remove the motor mounts and push the motor towards the driver side? I’m having similar issues now with my headers

Really? You guys are suggesting altering the geometry of the engine/k-member to gain a little clearance for a set of damn headers? Holy lol. Just dimple the header pipe. You'll lose ZERO horsepower.

His car is probably just off a little, so good chance adjusting the geometry would be putting it INTO spec. We all know Ford quality is not 100%, hell look at most S550 panel alignment.

The engine from the factory is offset to the pass side. To check if the K-member is square, plum bobs front & rear from fixed points on the body, how you hang the bob, marking, measuring, & a lot of math to make that adjustment. Even then, front to back tolerances are 1/16", side to side are 1/8" do to torquing it down. I never seen any factory k-member more the a 16th off barring it being in a crash, or installing a new/aftermarket k-member. 99.9% of the factory cars out there are fine. It's not something the average John Q. Public can do. I'd just dimple the headers.
