I threw a Hurst pistol grip on my Magnum XL with a MGW shifter and like it, but it rattles at high rpm when on the throttle.

I've tried multiple fixes, but nothing works. Any other ideas?

- Tried teflon using the MGW jam nut
- Tried teflon using the Hurst jam nut
- Tried locktite using both jam nuts
- Tried RTV sealant on both jam nuts
- Tried backing out the jam nut a 1/4 turn, 1/2 turn, 1 turn, 2 turns
- Tried using rubber orings between the jam nut and shift knob
- Tried putting dynamat all over the shift base

I don't know what else to try. I like the shift knob and want to use it, but if it rattles it defeats the purpose.

I reached out to MGW to inquire about a solution / their thoughts and they are going to send me a weighted gripper knob that pretty much eliminates the jam nut.

Sucks to lose to pistol grip as I like it, but I'd rather not have loud rattling.

The weighted gripper is a nice piece! Would definitely recommend picking one up.

MGW's gripper got rid of the rattle and they were a pleasure to work with. What impresses me the most about them is they ship put every little piece you need for the install such as rubber washers, allen wrench, etc.
