Mike at Modurstang fitted the The Driveshaft Shop Halfshaft up to 800bhp and the Driveshaft Shop one piece aluminium driveshaft up to 1000bhp. He also fitted the Steeda Heavy Duty Braided Hydraulic Clutch Line, Steeda braided brake lines, Steeda slotted discs and the Steeda heavy duty engine mounts. All recommended NO PROBLEMS SO FAR.. The McLeod RST Twin Disc 800HP Clutch and the Barton Hybrid 3 Shifter - MT-82 are next when I upgrade my FR/Roush supercharger to stage 2 = 720bhp. Mike did my Kooks so no headache for me. :headbonk::thumbsup:

pretty sure the ford racing half shafts are cheaper than the DSS and stronger seem to remember reading somewhere on here they're actually better in some other way too but can't for the life of me remember where i read it.

How have you found the brakes compared to the stock Brembo ?

The Driveshaft Shop Halfshaft up to 800bhp and the Driveshaft Shop one piece aluminium driveshaft up to 1000bhp
Is the accelerator more responsive ?

Definitely, as soon as I find out what it is :D

How's the car ?

I've done a lot of research as wanted to build the ultimate NA car more or less, I really enjoy just squeezing the pedal in 2nd, 3rd and 4th, wanting good power everywhere that I can deploy also in the wet.

I researched the drive shafts heavily and in the end I decided it was not worth the risk.

In my research I discovered nearly every owner complains of some form of NVH, some are more sensitive than others, I am on the spectrum of extremely sensitive to any kind of vibration, rattle or additional noise.

What I did discover is the dynatech one seems to the best, very few owners complain of vibration whereas I found lots of people having issues with DSS and Shaftmasters in regards to vibration issues. Though the carbon fibre ones were less likely to have issues but still present.

My other worry was all the 1pc shafts get rid of the rubber guilbo, dohnut or whatever you wish to call it, I feel this is a bad idea as now your allowing vibrations that would normally be nullified to be transmitted, which cannot be too good for your gearbox though not really heard of any issues, but something to consider.

If I was to do 1pc I'd get the Dynatech 1pc aluminum jobby, it $950-$995 for manual and around $750 for automatics. The weight savings for manuals is around 15lbs I believe and performance wise though hard to measure maybe expect to gain a tenth in quarter mile and around 1mph on terminal, so they do something. If your supercharged then yes a 1pc is advisable for strength as blown cars have twisted and snapped the stock drive shaft.

If your staying NA, focus on the easier savings, take out wheel weight, get two-piece brake disc as you will gain far more in acceleration, handling and ride quality by doing those.

Also if you want to save serious weight, get some quality carbon FIA approved bucket seats, over stock seats you will save a good 50-60kg, then add in a rear seat delete and your saving good weight.

Something I am considering doing as my plan is NA is to swap out the 3.55 gears for the 3.73 gears, that will give a notice able improvement for sure, not one that is going to make you faster in the real world on stats like 0-100 as your changing gear more but what you notice with shorter gears is the car will pick up more.

I went from a 3.62 to a 3.91 in the BMW and its one of the best mods I ever did, the thing absolute screams through the gears, helped a little as its SMG so it also made the car quite a bit quicker as that thing changes gear in a lightning fast 80ms, not bad for a 15yr old shed. :D

If your supercharged which I think you are then yes get the 1pc, half shafts, clutch etc.

I like the stock shifter, I find the uprated ones to close and to tight, some like this however. MGW and Barton Hybrid are the best so good choice!

If you are supercharged you might want to do the opposite on the gears by the way, like drop to a 3.15 or 3.33 ratio to help with traction. ;)

I would happily remove my rear seats as they aren't used, but the removal kits look terrible.

Eventually I'll end up replacing the wheels, but I like the stock ones, so in no rush.

Any more recommendations for upgrades ?

Are you NA for FI?

The Ford GT350 official delete looks fine, I think its down to around $750 now which is more reasonable, check Autonation and Levittown as they generally have best pricing on OEM Ford stuff and Tasca can be pretty good too.

If your FI, just give it more boost! :D

That rear seat delete is actually alright, shame it's twice the price of the others, would save a good few kilos too.

Once you start reducing weight via interior, your on a slippy slope, I think that rear delete saves 15-20kg.

If you change the front seats to some buckets you will save around 60kg. :D

Also if your not FI, another good mod that cost around $500 shipped plus fitting is new rear-end gears, UK cars are 3.55, switching up to a 3.73 will give the car more initial get up and go, one of the best mods I ever did on the M3, really made a difference going from 3.64 to 3.91 :)

The rear seats don't do anything though, you're basically lugging a useless sofa around that eats all your mpg, acceleration and handling.

I'd argue they're good to throw annoying people you have to travel with on... but they still prove to be annoying back there
