I began this journey as soon as I found out that Ford would be making a new Mustang. That is when the dream of owning one was born. I chose to special order my car as soon as my local dealer started taking orders back in 2014. Here is the package I decided on...

2015 Ford Mustang GT Premium Fastback
- 5.0L Ti-VCT
- Manual 6 Speed

50 Years Edition package
- 19" Luster Nickel Aluminum wheels
- Pirelli P255/40R19 W Rated tires
- 50th Anniversary chrome grill and taillight surround
- 50th Anniversary seats/door trim with Soft Touch

401A Package (401A)
- HD Radio
- Shaker Pro 12 Speaker System
- Blind Spot Monitoring
- Memory Seat and Mirrors

Original window sticker:

Now some of you are probably questioning why I didn't opt for the Performance Package. Well, straight up I'm not made of money and the heritage of this iconic muscle car was more important to me than the performance upgrades from the factory. I also knew that aftermarket parts would be made available to add later once the itch needed to be scratched...which did not take long :D

Here's my first time seeing my car. I took delivery of this beast on 12/13/14 :ford:

And some photos in bone stock form...

It didn't take long for me to start going over the car. Day one, I popped the hood and detailed the entire engine bay...

Every boat needs a name. I am a firm believer in every car needing a name too. It may seem a bit cliche but I knew there was only one name fit for this sexxxy piece of automotive engineering...Eleanor. She had her name. Now it was time to give her a voice and a personality. Couldn't leave her stock for long. Within the first week I ordered my first mods. Enter the JLT oil separator and switchbacks from Diode Dynamics.

The oil separator has got to be one of the easiest mods ever. Unplug hose. Replace with JLT oil separator.

Here's a comparison of the stock bulbs vs. the first gen Diode switchbacks and matching hiper white bulb...

Such a must in my opinion. It really cleans up the front end of the car. But once I saw how clean these new LEDs looked I knew I would be hitting up Diode for more.

***side note! If anyone hasn't yet installed these do yourself a favor and wrap a layer or two of electrical tape around the bulb to help secure it in the plug. It's a pain in the ass to get the bulb out of the housing and it's been known to happen. Also Diode has since updated their bulbs and the newer generations are supposed to be a lot better than their predecessor***

Tired of the fishbowl effect I had a buddy install 28% tint all the way around. I've tinted cars before. My previous car had limo tint all the way around and although it was great I didn't wanna go that dark on the Stang.

Ok long overdue for some more loud! Roush has been a solid name in the Mustang aftermarket for years. At the time availability seemed limited but the Roush system appealed to me because of the muffler shape, exhaust tone and quality of their product. So to give my pony more of a voice I purchased a set of Roush axlebacks.

A month or so in and I'm already anxiously awaiting the UPS and FedEx guy.
What can brown do for you?

And of course having just been under the car for the axleback installation, the only right choice was next to get rid of that awful resonator. After watching countless exhaust clips and doing some research I decided an H pipe was for me so I hit up the guys over at Lethal Performance.

Had the guys over at EFI Powerhouse in San Jose install the H pipe because I had also picked up a set of Steeda progressive springs because LOW. Rich is the owner and a genuinely nice dude. They specialize in Mustangs and most of them own one, so they know their stuff. If anyone is looking for a shop in The southern Bay Area look them up

Had to test it out the new exhaust setup right? Sorry for the poor quality. At this point I'm still not yet very good at video or photography

Aside from the car looking a lot meaner the springs have greatly improved handling and cornering ability. At this point I am already thinking full Steeda suspension is going to happen...eventually. But with the glass dark and the car lowered and sounding good, I'm very happy with my build to this point. :D

DarkHorse5.0 Nice to see you start your build thread Bryn  As always car is looking awesome. Looking forward to seeing pics with your new project6gr wheels when they come in. How do you like the Bassani headers? I have their 3" catback system and am starting to think of going to headers. Any pros and cons you can offer up? Keep up the great work

Thanks a bunch Dennis! It's a work in progress and I've got a lot more to add to this thread so stay tuned. Much more to come! I LOVE my Bassani headers! As you may already know they started out as a motorcycle company. I made the trip down to their headquarters and they hooked me up with a sweet deal that I just couldn't pass up...thanks to my brother @5litershark for setting that up. BTW he has Bassani headers and catback system. I know he's not far from you so that might be a good way to hear what to expect out of your system if you do decide to go with long tubes. But basically they don't stock headers so they machine everything in house by the order. I think that's a fantastic way to do business because these are literally custom made for your car.

Pros:
- amazing craftsmanship and quality
- 3" tubing for optimal performance
- American made in house and made to order
- awesome top end power
- very little if any low end power loss
- no drone(probably depends on catback setup)
- and of course...that incredible sound! :headbang:

Cons:
- not CARB legal
- with cat deletes comes fumes. Driving behind me most people tell me "man, your car stinks!"
- it's loud! With the setup I have it's honestly too loud. I cannot drive the car the way I used to anymore in fear of being pulled over and cold starts are scary loud for anyone outside the car. If you have neighbors that are close they will hate you LOL

Thanks for your feedback, definitely helps. They are just a few minutes away from me so one of these days I'll stop by in person and talk to them. I'll also reach out to your brother @5litershark and check his system out. Looking forward to watching your build

Ok so after a short while of driving with the new exhaust I figured it was time to stiffen her up while also making her engine bay look better. Enter The Ford Racing strut tower brace. Luckily for me it came in black...my favorite color

About the same time I got rid of that god awful bubble with Moroso's coolant reservoir. You guessed it...black

Here's both installed...

It's actually starting to be an attractive engine bay. YAY! Test drive confirmed, the strut tower brace does indeed tighten up the front end quite a bit. Definitely enough to notice a difference and with my plans for more black much better looking than the stock PP on.

*non parts related side note*

I had a local shop install 3M vinyl on my entire front bumper (bikini style), headlights and foglights. In retrospect this should have been done as soon as I took Eleanor home. It saves your paint and clearcoat! Unfortunately my bumper already had small rock chips but better late than never! While I was there I also had them add some matte black accents on the side mirrors and heat extractors

Time to get rid of those amber corners! I hit up the guys over at Anchor Room for some of their blackout panels for the taillights too. It's all precut and installs very easy. Looks especially good on black I think.

Doin work...being sure not to be stingy with the solution(soapy water) and a little bit of heat gun(I used a small hair dryer) Spray bottles work best for applying these small vinyl applications

The non PP Mustang has a pretty lame front lip. I actually got the idea from my good buddy @sbloom5_0 who had already done this but I located and purchased a front lip from a performance package Stang and had it mounted to my front end. Because the belly pan is also more aggressive on the PP car I needed to find one for my new front chin...luckily my brother @dezl50 had just decided to upgrade Falkkor with the APR splitter so I picked up his Steeda splitter and had that installed too.

Nice read so far Bryn. I thought I waited a long time to start my thread but damn dude

Agree on the 3M vinyl off the bat. My front is just shredded so no sense in doing mine now. In about a year or so I will either get it repainted or do the Steeda...then I will get it wrapped.
