Anyone with a Procharger have their bearings start to chirp on the adjuster idler?

Just wondering if I have something out of whack or just bad luck. This is my second set of bearings.

I am getting mine from VXB. Just ordered some high tempers (500F) and if they also go bad I will get some ceramics.

I thought initially that the use of the shielded ones were the issue by PC but then I bought some sealed ones. They also started to chirp last week.

I get a chirp noise every now and then seems to be when I give it some throttle though. Never knew what it was, figured it was normal. Now you have me curious.

Most probably the tensioner pulley. PC wants almost 100.00 for a new one but the bearings can be replaced for under 20.00.

The bearing sizes are

17x35x10 for the Tensioner idler
17x40x12 for the other pulleys

Any downside to leaving it alone? Aside from the occasional chirp.

Nope unless it gets worse. Mine did after about two weeks.

Makes you wonder if PC is using bearing from China ? You have had yours out, did you see a name on them ? That is why I use world wide bearing , made in the USA and not imported from Japan or China .. World wide bearing hold more top speed records than any other bearing made ...311 MPH in the standing mile on a motorcycle ..

Didn't look before I threw it in the trash. I think the ones I got now are from Japan.

Apparently I have an issue. New bearings in the tensioner tonight and one confrontation later with a Procharged Camaro and the bearings are squeaking again.

Yes I won but that is besides the point. I swear my blower pulley sits about 1/4" inward from the middle and the crank pulley.

I have a Gates laser alignment tool from my Kenne Bell days. Going to throw it on there this weekend and verify. Something is off.

If you have a chirp, it could be the belt.

The belt we are now using is made for ultra long life.
HOWEVER, they seem to be prone to squeaks if debris gets on them.

Please send me a PM, with Name, Serial Number, and Phone number.
And I can get you taken care of ASAP.

Thanks!

Thanks. Will do after I took a look at it.

Gonna do some looking this weekend. It's one of three things.

The pulley on the bracket is facing the wrong way thus pushing the belt out. Should the circlip be facing the bracket or outwards to the engine?

If I don't run a crap load of preload on the tensioner then the belt walks of two ribs away from the blower. If I ran the tension then it doesn't but I am blowing through bearings.

I will figure it out this weekend with the laser though. It's nice to have tools.

This is very odd. My bearings started squeaking also. Pulled the car into the garage. Checked alignment on everything, belt isn't rubbing anywhere and everything looks good. Just started hearing it on my way home from a night cruise. My mustang isn't my daily. My lightning is. So I maybe have 50-60 miles on this kit by doing datalogging for lund.
