Has anyone tried getting these installed? If so, feedback? And if not, what would be the setbacks (outside of higher rpms at high speeds)

Should wake the little slugger up a bit. The GT auto feels terrible with 3.31's, I can only imagine how the six feels.

Yeah the v6 needs at least 3.55 gears. I personally plan on doing 3.73 when I get some money together.

I think the 3.73 would work well in the V6. There's not a lot of torque down low. The gears would multiply whats there.

I looked at these as well. I have a feeling this would make first gear very short. I also wonder how many RPMs that would bring highway speeds up to

No shorter than it is in the GT. I have the 3.73's, and it's definitely tolerable as a DD.

I'd recommend throwing an LSD in while you're in there. If you're going to do it, do it right.

The v6 comes with an lsd I'm pretty sure. 3.73s would wake it up for sure coming from 3.15s, but so would 4.10s lol. It depends what gear ratio your coming from. If you had 3.55's in going to 3.73 will be negligible in terms of seat of the pants feel. I had 3.31 gears and went to 4.10s and it made a huge difference. The car has the feeling of torque now. You don't need to wind it out to be put back into the seat.

I think 3.73 is a good gear all around, but if you do a lot of highway commuting you'll notice the mpg difference. If you live in a crowded city with traffic you won't notice much if any difference in mpg at all.

The Traction-Lok differential in the V6 is technically a LSD but not a good one.
The Torsen in the GT PP is a much better design.

Here is the Traction-Lok

I have the Torsen, and I absolutely love it. Now that I finished overhauling the IRS, it grabs like hell.

Whats a swap like this cost for the V6. When you say torque down low what kind of feeling are we talking about ? Like if I hit the x it will pull like a mad bull?

I paid 500 with gears and install for my gears. It doesn't make the car have more torque,, it makes it feel more torquey because the rpms rise quicker when you hit the gas. The v6 won't ever pull like a mad bull but it pulls pretty hard down low.

My car has ran a 8.7@83 MPH 1/8th mile. 13.5@106 in the 1/4 in 2500 DA with a 2.1 60" spinning. Most new stock 15gts I've seen run around that time for the 1/8th mile but pull harder up top. A couple key mods really wake the car up.

What mods do you have Marius? I hit a 13.6 according to track apps with just apps tune, throttle body spacer, and an intake. That was in winter though when it was cold.

I have 4.10s, jlt intake, ported manifolds, and shorty headers from BBK, and a MPT 91 tune revving to 7500 to tie it all together. My car is a 2012 though.

The car could definitely run high 12s in good weather with good traction. But I can never launch or floor it in 1st gear without blowing the tires off. After the 4.10s I need some wider tires and better rubber.

On the 2015 with 3.31 1st gear tops out at ~25-30mph. And 2nd at 65mph. Would going to a taller gears make you need to shift into third to get 60 and hurt your time?

That's not possible. I had 3.31s on the auto and 1st topped out at 40 mph and 2nd at 70 mph. I don't think they have changed the internal ratios for 2015
