Faulty pads on PP GTs...

Thought I l'd start a new thread about my noisy brakes. I brought my car in yesterday to Fremont Ford, and they were able to duplicate the noise I'm hearing (metal on metal grinding). The tech said the pads are faulty, and Ford engineering will be approving the PP GTs for pad/rotor replacement under TSB 15-0030. The problem is I have to wait two months for parts

Haha. Yeah. Me and the wifey spend a lot time in San Jo. I've spent a small fortune at San Pedro Market Square :cheers:

So now the Brembos on the GTs with the PP need replacing too? :doh:

Mine don't make a squeaky metal on metal sound but sometimes when coming to a dead stop I'll get a little something kind of like a humming sound from the front passenger side. Anyone else get this? It's only like the last few mph-0 too. Like 5mph down to 0 kinda weird but I thought brembos were known to be noisy so didn't think much of it.

I am...another thing I'll be bringing up during service. Hopefully should schedule next week.

The noise is quite loud and is not a normal squeak/noise that would be associated with noisy pads. Definitely something going on there. Always happens after a few minutes of medium traffic/street driving.

I cant hear anything over my corsa exhaust

They're just letting you know they're doing their job.

People don't understand this. These 6 pots are going to make noise sometimes. Part of life to have amazing stopping power, over and over and over.

Just get a louder exhaust, it will fix all the squeaks and rattles.
I have not experience any issues with the brembos.

The shape of the pad edges and material used largely dictates noise. You can put quiet pads on the car, but they won't perform as well as the noisy ones.
