Yikes. I paid $33,600 for my '16 base GT w/ Auto... Seems like it's around $6,000 more now? I think Ford is trying to charge Camaro money, which unfortunately might make it have Camaro sales numbers.

What benefit over the other 87 octane does the ethanol free provide? There was another pump labeled "Super Premium" w/ ethanol free at 92 octane.

Your engine will last longer. Unless they are now manufacturing engine components with ethanol gas in mind.

Some older cars will not work very well with ethanol because alcohol attacks rubber and plastic that are not designed to handle it.
New cars are not a problem however, alcohol is known to absorb water so if it's sitting long, it will absorb moisture from air.
On a high performance car, octane is more important.

Lots of new tech on this car. The instrument cluster has the 12" LCD in lieu of gauges, and the 401A pkg with the upgraded interior, as well as NAV. To lower the price, if you are not racing it, delete the PP (- $3995.) and the Magni-Ride ($1695) to bring it into a more affordable configuration, with a price of $47470.
Better yet, forego the premium any get a GT with 301A, PP1, and active exhaust. Or PP2 which may come with magneride, suede, and active exhaust. Should come in between 42k and 44k respectively. PP2 is 6 grand.

2018 base GT with auto is 37.5k. So, 4 grand more. Don't worry, they'll rebate the neck out of them unless they fly off the lots.

Approaching mid $50's and $60k for a Vert!?!

This buc-ee's just opened a month or so ago. They do knock off $0.20 per gallon if you buy the carwash.
For those of you who have never been to (or seen) a Buc-ee's, picture 400 gas stations glued together and 100,000 square feet of convenience store stuff, plus Texas decorations, gifts, barbecue, beef jerky, kolaches, and the cleanest bathrooms this side of Little America in Wyoming. It's an adventure.

Back on topic, I think the pricing is slightly higher, but that seems to be where these cars are going. I'm okay with it as long as they keep a base model at a reasonable price, for those of us who won't spend the big bucks. :D

Go look again at the window sticker.

Base price of a GT premium. Not a base GT.

Ethanol-free gas is for older cars and rich people. That's it.

It seems to do fine in my '96 Jeep XJ so far. Although when people started trading in Jeeps for the Cash for Clunkers, there was a 4.0 I6 that ran 8 minutes running on liquid glass. That's a record! :thumbsup:
