To me little features like this make the car special. Especially a nod back to a classic mustang. Every car maker was doing things like this in the 50's and 60's. Just like the hood mounted tach.

Hood mounted tachs were cool. I had a buddy with one on a Firebird way back in the day.

Just ordered a kit for my 15, I love the retro look of them.

Quick sort of related question, how come some Mustangs I have seen (same generation) dont have the extrator vents on the good. Was it only for V8's or package related?

I believe V6 and EcoBoost did not get the hood vents.

Try not to rev it up, it might hurt their feelings.

I walked in to buy a V6, walked out with a GT... I know I would have cried everytime a GT roll by me.

I like the retro idea, I wish you could see both sides though.

Just take a sledge hammer to the middle of the hood ...... or ........ bend the front corner on the passenger side up. Then you could see it. Those would be the GM approved dealer fixes if this was one of their cars. Ask me how I know.

They are actually rather worthless as you can only see the driver's side. The passenger side you can see if you lean waaaaaaaaay over. Hood ridges are too tall for the blinker placement.

Cool factor? Sure.
I agree with this, you can only see one from drivers seat. It's a heat extracter, not a blinker cavity.

Those of you who removed their OEM extractors and lights, where does the other end of the wiring harness plug into? It goes down to the fender then you can't see crap. Need to get this dang thing unplugged

I just wanted to say I completely reversed my opinion on these. I thought the driver (or passenger) only being able to see one side shouted "design flaw!" Plus I didn't like that the vents were added to the hood rather than stamped in it. My original plan was to swap my GT hood with an Eco or V6 owner.

Then I realized the signals can be seen by a dash cam. I'll put up with the downsides for proof of signalling when that might make a case.
