I am interested in what led MMR to believe this product was needed, I have seen similar explanations from other MMR products.

Much the same reason that led Ford Racing to manufacture one. Much like the billet crankshaft gear that mmr was the first to develop that many would later copy, we race, build and develop parts for these engines daily and test and see things that the average person may never see in his lifetime. To answer your question however the mmr part is stronger, which decreases deformity which improves signal strength, the material we chose also produces a better signal.

Im going to need to see some data showing the factory piece failing at high RPM since I would bet the same piece of on the Coyote and the voodoo.

The factory part doesnt fail, it does however produce a signal that is not optimum. Ford Racing has some data showing this, which is the reason why they made an improved version also.
