Hey folks, I spent the weekend running my car at the WannaGoFast event at Stanly County Airport, New London, NC. I had an absolute blast, by far the most fun I've ever had at a car related event. My car performed amazing, Ken Bjonnes was adjusting my tune between passes, going faster every time. I have an MPR sleeved shortblock, Hellion twin 62 kit, on 21-22psi, e85. I was trapping 152-153mph through the qtr on an unprepped surface, hauling the mail :eyebulge:.

This is about the most fun you can have in a car, completely hooked, highly recommend attending one of these events.

I make 1060whp/978tq on 22psi. I was running 4 stages of boost through my Leash, ramping it up to 22psi by 3-4 seconds into my passes.

Thanks! I actually went 153.8 on one of my passes but didn't get a read out for my 1/2mile mph, which would have been 191-192.

How about some tips and tricks? Tire pressure? Heat issues? Ice bags on blower between runs? Anything else?

I'm doing the Texas Mile in October and need advice!

I'll be at the event at the end of July in VA. Agreed it's the most fun you can have in a car. Such a fun time.

Well this was my first 1/2 mile event. The best advice I can start with is to hire Bjonnes for track side support, couldn't have gone that fast without him making changes for me. Aside from that, I was on a fresh set of MT R's that were hooking like glue, 16-17psi. Bring a generator and fans to cool down between passes, try to wait 90 mins between runs, gotta watch your IAT's. I ran VP e85 for safety, didn't want to chance the gas station e85. I'd also recommend getting a 4 wheel alignment, fresh set of rotors, pads, SS brake lines, fresh set of plugs properly gapped, and check all of your other fluids.

You used the C85 from VP, right? Did you tune for it prior, or just pour it in? My local stations all have E90 right now, but not sure the case in October.

Add water meth to your car. My IAT lowered through my run at the mile.

Most all station 85 is 85% ethanol and 15% 84 octane. The race 85 versions are still 85% ethanol but 15% 93octane or more.

I tune on pump e85, but when I race and rank up the boost I will splash in "race" e85 just to make it extra safe. The car always adds timing then anyway.
