Gearing question for auto cars... 60ft and 1/4 mile thoughts

^^^all valid points....for example my buddy had my old 2200 on it but didnt have the budget to do the converter his 60's suffered and best he could do was a 10.32 with the 3.6" pulley....i told him add boost with the 3.48 and a converter and hes got a 9 sec pass....well first day out with his new combo he ran 9.91 at 139 so your definately correct....he was running a 331 gear...

my car has since gone under the knife, sold the stock shortblock and went to a sleeved shortblock....sold the JT and now have a YSI-B and she made 1040/765......2.95" upper with 20% Lower...im hoping she will pull an 8.99 if im lucky enough...

Damm 1040 with a centri,thats badass.U should have no problem getting your goal with them numbers,whats your car weigh?

my car is a 15 auto centri with 3C converter 3.15 and STOCK halfshafts....1.33 60ft. i think the 3.15 works great...i just ended up doing the dss 1400hp shafts and retiring my stock shafts intact and good as the day i got the car....i think my car would 60' worse if i had steeper gears....further more i would never trade 1/8 for back half mph....id rather have a killer 60' then a mehhh 60' and make it up on the big end with mph....especially in an auto car the thrill is all off the line anyway...once your in 3rd its essentially a wot highway pull, if i could i would even go to a 3.08 as the only draw back i see with the 315's (atleast in my car) is that it shifts 4th just before the end...
What RPM is your car at when it crosses the finish line. It looks like 3.15 with a 28" tire and 3rd gear 1.52 puts you at 139 at 8000 RPM.

I ran a 3.90 gear in my 13 to put it into the 10's. It was a manual car with a Boss intake, exhaust and BMR rear suspension.

Do you know what fuel ur buddy was running and how good the air was? I am going to have a similar setup without a stall and 3.73 gears? I'm guessing with stock stall Paxton 3.6 and 93 pump gas I will be high tens
