Hello everyone, I decided to make a thread to show the progress of my 2017 magnetic performance pack GT i recently acquired. This is actually the second S550 that I've had, the first one being a shadow black 2016 ecoboost that i winded up trading in for the new pony.

Since i already had a previous build thread and some of my back story on that thread please check it out here if you wish to do so and can see my first S550 and a few of my other previous cars...
http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=64506

Jumping right in, i had an ecoboost with upgraded big turbo on full e85 and made 410hp 475tq and it felt great and i really enjoyed it. This was my first brand new car and i became very attached, however in the back of my mind i kept thinking i was on borrowed time with the engine after seeing some motors go south with even less modifications than mine. Could it maybe have been fine for years to come? Well yes, but i didn't want to wait and try and find out honestly. The next step would have been to dive into a built motor and i just did not want to deal with headaches and costs of that especially in a new car. After owning a few turbocharged vehicles over the past several years and dealing with small annoying issues that seem to rear there head sometimes i kind of decided it was time that i tried out the simplistic approach to power right out of the box that is obtained by a V8 :clap2:

Along with reliability being a big motivator, the high rev-ability of the coyote and raw NA power that is achievable with just a few bolt ons caught my attention especially with me wanting to get more into road racing. Towards the end of having my old car i participated in an event out at MSR Houston with some other S550 buddies from our local Facebook group and was instantly hooked. While my ecoboost had great low end torque it just fell flat up top due to the head not really flowing well up there. The coyote motor i believe its better suited for romping around the track in that regard.

So once my mind was made up i started returning my car all back to stock so i could get ready to trade it in. Good thing was all of my parts were going to be able to move over to the new car for the most part except engine specific things. I spent a few weeks in my garage getting the EB as close to stock as possible which included un installing the whole turbo kit and putting the stock turbo, intercooler, downpipe, exhaust, intake back on etc... Luckily i had a lot of interested people that snatched up the parts i wouldn't be able to use anymore.

All Stock!

A buddy of mine works as a salesman for Ford dealership in town and once i was back to stock i brought my car to him and he helped arrange the trade in and it also helped they had the exact GT i was looking for which was a magnetic performance pack base model. I went with magnetic over the black this go around just because they black was so hard to keep clean and got swirls easily also i love the magnetic color and and wanted to have more contrast with the body and black accents i planned on doing. The lines really stand out more compared to the previous black car. Also i opted for the base model this time around because of a little extra weight savings and as you will see i planned on swapping the seats and everything out already so didn't really need leather and some other creature comforts that come along with the premium trim as its not my daily driver. I do however miss one thing, the larger touch screen but ohh well thats just how it goes i guess.

I picked the car up in late February and drove it around all stock for about a week and started ordering a few cosmetic goodies like corner light tint, diode dynamic led rear marker lights, black grille emblem, color matched 5.0 badges and reinstalled my front led turn signals i had taken off my old car.

Also one of the first things i did was re-install my Corbeau FX1 seats with Corbeau rails and sliders along with the AM rear seat delete, gt350 shift knob, and start button.

After that i had found an Injen cai locally for a really good price and installed my Mishimoto coolant resivoir along with UPR catch can at the same time to clean up the engine bay some.

Next a few accents... Roush heat extractors from Beith performance parts hydro dipped carbon look for extra flair. Carbon mirror covers as well...

Next up the real fun began as i went to stay the weekend at my good friend's place that has a really nice garage with a lift and plenty of room for activities. The goal was to swap over all of my suspension parts i had taken off the old car. That list consists of the following:
Stance super sport coilovers
Whiteline sway bars
Whiteline end links
Steeda rear adjustable camber arms
Steeda solid diff bushing inserts
Steeda transmission mount bushing
SR performance billet vertical links
SR performance toe arms
BMR rear cradle lock out kit

All Done!

Also my wheels and tires went back on, Gramlight 57 transcend made by Rays Japan. They are 19x10 +30 squared setup with 275 35 Nexan N'fera sur4 tires. Each wheel weighs roughly 22lbs.

Then it was alignment time, fortunately i have a buddy that works as a tech for Nissan so i was able to go there for an after hours alignment. With the Steeda rear camber arms we were able to get the rear camber back to factory spec at around -1.5 right where i like it even being lowered on coilovers ;)

At this time i re-attached my APR carbon splitter to the front end with universal winglet add ons. I had the same set up on my EB previously and still liked the look very much. Also i added the RTR side splitters back on.

One thing i just couldn't live with on the base model is the rear bumper haha. I just felt like it was throwing the balance of the car off and had an unfinished look to it, so i purchased a premium rear bumper and trim piece from a local dealer and dropped it off with my buddy to have it painted. Also i had my Steeda q series spoiler painted from flat black to a gloss black.
Picked everything up and quickly went to town changing it out.

Recently about a week ago received some new APR canards that i ordered.
They were pretty easy to do and im in love with the look of them and feel they give the front end that little bit extra aggressive look. Didn't even have to take the bumper off to install which was awesome.

These are the most recent pictures of the car from just driving around and enjoying the heck out of it.

Pretty sure I'm all done exterior wise at this moment and have successfully finished swapping over all my previous parts from the ecoboost car. Starting to focus on some go fast parts now that i have about 1500 miles and consider it pretty much broken in. ARH longtubes and full american thunder catback has been ordered and should be showing up tomorrow so i will be updating with that soon, Thanks for checking out my car thus far and please stay tuned i appreciate it

Love the new car. Those Rays wheels look killer against the Magnetic paintwork!

Nice choice with the full ARH system. I've never heard that system in person, but I watched the CJ Pony Parts install video and listening to the sound clips at the end, it sounds aggressive with a great tone. When it comes time for me to do headers I'll be going with either Kooks or ARH.

Looking forward to seeing photos of the next update!

SoCalTim thank you sir. Yeah I've watched that CJ pony parts video like a 1000 times haha, i knew i wanted to get the Arh headers before i even had the car just because of the higher pitched exotic type of tone they seem to make. Really excited to ditch the stocl exhaust and let the freedom ring :^)

Coyote Red in sport mode

I too went from a 14 Cyclone to the V8 thunder! Remarkable build so far. I am on the coastal bend of Texas, moved from H-town to semi-retire and enjoy the 75 mph coastal Hwy's down here. I've chosen BMR parts to advance my suspension and will want header's but my front sub-frame brace won't work with Kook's. Some weekend you must drive the 2 hr's down here and I'll show the Twisty's I enjoy here, very little traffic. Swan Point is a nice place for a "photo shoot" as well.

Hey guys thanks for the kind words!, i appreciate it.

Coyote Red she is looking good, yeah i love me some twisty roads. As you know most of Houston is pretty flat and straight stretches of highway haha, one would have to go up farther north or over where your at to enjoy some good winding roads

I do have a little update as my ARH headers came in the other day along with the rest of the exhaust, catless X pipe 3" all the way back to the ARH pure thunder catback.
Should be installing it this weekend and I'm very excited to hear this V8 roar haha.

what wheel lugs did you end up using? I had a hard time finding ones that fit japanese style wheel lug holes with the right pitch.

Have some cheap ebay ones now
