If people are scavenging from accident scenes like that, imagine what those same people would be like during a real disaster scenario. Unbelievable.

OP look on the bright side. With that kind of damage you won't be compelled to post a "is my car totaled?" thread!

That was a horrific event at many levels. I imagine it damaged your faith in society as much as damaged your car.

I hope you recover well from both.

Glad to hear you're alright. I had to show this to my wife and told her about how the car saved your life. Figure that'll make her feel that much better about me ordering a Mustang. =)

Glad you are OK. I can't believe people trying to rob you while you are involved in accident. God Bless and good luck!

Yeah the people trying to rob you is crazy. I just can't imagine that and damn sure would not want to live in a place where stuff like that happens. Definitely doesn't make me feel good about my fellow humans.

Glad you're okay. You're a lucky person.

This is why I like to carry. Had I walked up on people trying to rob an accident victim I would've had them on the ground waiting to get hauled off to the pokey. That's incredibly awful to do to someone.

Cannot carry in the PRK

I read your story before you had the pics working and was trying to image the damage... WOW that was way worse than I thought.

Glad you're ok!

One thing I haven't pointed out is despite being hit so hard from behind I suffered no effects from whiplash. I follow the guidelines of correct positioning of the head rest in all our cars and that was my first concern after the impact. Seat and head rest design were a huge factor for me here.

What area were you driving in that you got hit by an alcoholic with no insurance and almost robbed by 3 people? It sounds like mega poor-ville.

Los Angeles...the Inland Empire...Orange County..

You name it, generally Southern California.

I once saw someone steal the collar off a still kicking dead cat in Echo Park..(Specifically the corner of Sunset and Innes Ave)

I had a job offer in California once... wow, glad I passed on it. I've never heard of that happening here in Tx.

Glad you survived and will live to drive another day!

There are a lot of people driving without insurance, it's scary. That's one reason I still have uninsured motorist coverage on my old beater. At least I could replace it with something with 4 wheels.

I guess you felt like Will Smith in "I Am Legend" when he crashed and the Zombies
attacked. You have to lock and load in sanctuary states
