Car was dropped off to the dealer on Monday. Hoping the tech can get to it today, but nothing yet.

I'm waiting too. This thread made me hold up on a whipple (for the 5th time). I keep talking myself out of it every time I read a stuff like this.

No update yet, guys. I will update the thread, the moment I know.

Posts like this and ROH's make me cry a little. It's become acceptable in today's society to just replace whatever's broke... The good ole days when somethings broke you fix it. Even Ford does the same thing, oh your engine makes a noise we can't find it needs a whole new engine. Suspect previous responses are correct a broken timing component, and to answer your question/statement OP if the valves made marks on the piston carbon without a doubt they are bent.

I mean with a little work you could potentially repair this engine for a few hundred dollars... Just sayin.

I understand why Ford would want to replace the engine, if it's covered under warranty. They will want to have the long block bock for a tear down, to get a better idea as to what happened. As for fixing the valve train on a coyote for a few hundred bucks..... thats what just the gaskets would cost. not to mention machine work and labor.

At the end of the day, its not an OPG, it's not a crank timing chain sprocket, not a head gasket and theres not a hole in the block. If anything on the timing side, a secondary chain. Don't see how or why they wouldn't cover it under warranty... otherwise, they will have to prove to me why they've decided to decline warranty.

I wish I had the time to do a built long block, but MPR is running 12 weeks out.

With any luck, Ill be able to ask the tech to install and OPG, Chain sprocket, head cooling mod and my ATI balancer before the new engine goes in.
