Just as the rumour is about Frank Bullitt's GT390 being dubbed over with a GT40.....although, quite frankly, I don't see why they'd need to, as the Mustang would have sounded just fine!

Ah The Run. I remember when the 350Z launched. I went to the local auto show to see it and they handed me a copy of The Run on DVD at the Nissan booth. Still have it, a really cool video to this day. Why don't more car companies do raw promo videos like this anymore? So much cooler than the CGI stuff to me.

It ain't a rumor. It was what was done. Most noticeable when you hear the double clutching. Widely discussed with Ford engineers back when the 2001 Bullitt was released and how they tried to get the car close to the movie sound..Just as the rumour is about Frank Bullitt's GT390 being dubbed over with a GT40.....
It is done in most movies--too much scene cutting from different cameras to obtain one consistent sound track during filming so the sound is dubbed in afterwards.

Whoa! :eyebulge: How did they find this? Looks like it's in Mexico. Ford needs to buy this, do an unlimited budget perfect restoration and debut it alongside the 2018 Bullitt in LA. Then put it in the Petersen.
This is amazing, and maybe it'll motivate the odd guy that's hiding the other one in a barn for decades to finally reveal theirs too. Honestly though I'd say this "uncrushed" one is more valuable since it's the one that actually did the jumps and hard stunts. Man it's like finding the Titanic to me haha, such awesome news! Thanks for sharing!

The Original Bullitt vents look more flush than the cheese graters on the 2018 GT. Would be nice if the Bullitt 18 if one comes out, has a different hood, but that might be costly.
