It's sold and salty and wintery, but I've been busy.

My MGW shifter has been installed. My new shift ball came in for the MGW as well, so that was also installed.

Then my Steeda CAI came in. it's been preassembled by me, but I'm waiting for the weather to at least creep back up into the 40's before I install it.

I took the time to install my LED exterior lights everywhere, so now I have a bright ass reverse LED to match up with the Diode Dynamic LEDs in the parking lamps up front.

I also ordered a CDC spoiler. That has arrived, but probably won't get installed until March or April after it's painted. I've also consulted a local shop about tinting the windows. Again, I'll be waiting for warmer weather to prevail.

Lastly, just yesterday my custom plates came in for the car. I need to order a ringer for it now, as I hadn't considered that initially. I'll be going with something low profile, thin and black so it doesn't obstruct much from the plate, as it's so humorous.

I'm still waiting for my black grille pony, but it's been on national backorder for at least a month now. Once that gets here, the front will be complete for me.

That's it for now. Will need to paint and install the spoiler and tint the windows when it gets warmer, then I can figure out what's next. Plus I still have my whole anchor room tint kit here, still unopened.

Onto the pictures.....

Decided against the CDC Spoiler after test fitting it recently.

Just wasn't what I was looking for.

Weather was decent for a day so I got to finally put the top down for an afternoon. I can't wait until it's properly warm again.

Really happy with the car as is. I can see me doing a lot less appearance related stuff on this car.

Recent additions are the plastidipping of the rear lower valence between the tails. I can see myself doing an RTR valence down the road possibly, but i'm in no rush.

Then yesterday the last piece to my whole "adding the black accent package" finally arrived after 6 weeks on national backorder -- the grille pony.

I also got my license plate frame for the rear. It's a little tiny trinket of nothing, but hey I spent $20 on it. I like the black, it fits well.

So as soon as the weather isn't shitty (tomorrow, hopefully) I'll spent 10 minutes outside and swap ponies.

What size rear tires do you have? 285/35/19? I think 305/35/19's would be perfect, but not an easy size to find.

rolling on stock 275/40R19 Pirelli P-Zeros. Wheels/tires were changed with like 128 on the odometer. Actually made money putting these wheels on and selling my stock wheels.

^ Tire side wall should be a little lower, for reference my rear 20"s are 295/30R20. Front is 265/35/19:

Otherwise, nice choice in wheels. Something different.

When you replace them I would go with

255/40 front and 305/35 rear. That would look perfect. Would have just the right amount of mild beefy bulge in the back and the rear sidewall would be slightly bigger than the front which is how it should be:

Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference
255/40-19 4.0in 13.5in 27.0in 84.9in 746 0.0%
305/35-19 4.2in 13.7in 27.4in 86.1in 736 1.4%

To me, your rear sidewall looks too thin. It's thinner than the front sidewall, which never looks right IMO.

To me 40 is too thick, on the way to looking like a donut. I can lower the front of my car so the front 35 side wall doesn't look too thick. Problem is my driveway is high and I scrub all ready being 5" off the ground with the boss splitter.

Fwiw, sports cars use 35 sidewall or less. Anything higher is economical and better for comfort. The rear on a corvette is 25 profile with 30 for fronts. Just food for thought.

It's not as simple as saying 30 vs 35 etc, as that's the aspect ratio which is a percentage of the width. For example, a 335/25 has a slightly higher sidewall than a 275/30.

Also, it depends on the car, it's body, how lowered it is etc. Mustangs are not Z06's.

They are more "muscle" car and less sports car compared to cars like that and having some sidewall looks good, ESPECIALLY in the rear. There are exceptions depending on the setup, but generally speaking these cars just don't look that good with rubber band tires in the rear, and it looks even worse if there's a thicker sidewall up front.

And yeah, the thinner you go the less practical it becomes. Less comfort and less straight line grip too when it comes to the rear tires. You also usually have to slam the car to make it look ok.

But to each their own.

not doing weird shit with this car this time around. Will probably stick with stock sizes or something in the rear that's wider but equivalent in diameter to the stock 275/40R19 it was graced with from the factory.

interwebs says I'd need a 315/35R19 out back, and a 295/35R19 up front if i wanted to go wider .

your suggestion of a 305 out back would make it shorter than my stock rear tires.

Not sure where you got those sizes, but that's too large for those wheels IMO, and you don't want or need that wide of a tire upfront for your car. It would just increase weight, tramlining, hydroplaning, rolling resistance, etc. I'm guessing you don't track it. 255 up front (assuming a good tire ) is plenty for the street. The sizes I told you are ideal and would look really good.

305/35/19 is almost identical to a 275/40/19 in height/diameter. The tiny difference is basically insignificant.

Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference

275/40-19 4.3in 13.8in 27.7in 86.9in 729 0.0%
305/35-19 4.2in 13.7in 27.4in 86.1in 736 -0.9%

Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference
255/40-19 4.0in 13.5in 27.0in 84.9in 746 0.0%

275/40-19 4.3in 13.8in 27.7in 86.9in 729 2.3%

But if you are happy with the rear size as is then so be it. Car looks really good as is. It's just you have a 10" wheel out back and can take advantage of the fact that a 305 would look even better and provide a bit more traction.
