On my 2016 GT 6 speed base, whenever I put my emergency brake down, it thinks that the brake is not disengaged. I have to press it down for the light to go off. Has anyone else experienced this?

Its a cable adjustment. Just swing by a dealer. Takes about 10 minutes.

Do a search I remember a thread someone made where they fixed the issue, I've just lived with it but I need to fix it as well.

Have the same problem, have been having to just press down on it a few times after disengaging. It seems like the whole e-brake lever is loose or not as rigid as it used to be when I use mine.

Dropped my car off this morning at the dealership. They said that the cable is too short... Not sure how that's possible. They ordered a new one and I should have it back tomorrow.

I would really like to know a fix for this as well. My dam CDO (OCD is not in alphabetical order) is kicking my ass with it being not all the way down. Don't have the problem with the light being on (most of the time) I just want it to go down all the way like its supposed to.

The dealer fixed it under warranty. The emergency brake cable was too short and needed to be replaced. I haven't had an issue since it was fixed.

After you have the dealer adjust it get under it and put a locknut on behind the bolt that tightens it. I had mine done and the dealer said that the nut they use slowly comes loose.

Should my handle be loose when the brake is off? It has quite a bit of play before it grabs. Adjustment?
