Get the one you feel is best value, but the basic coat is enough, your doing it mainly to reduce temperatures underhood which will help your car making more timing and thus more power. :)

I'm unfamiliar with ceramic coating, so I don't know the performance difference between each level to know which one is the best value.

CAM 1 is for a single ceramic coating. This can be internal or, on stainless steel, externally.
CAM 2 is for a double coating. Either double internal, internal + external on stainless or external base ceramic + choice of finish on mild steel or cast iron.
CAM 3 is for a triple internal + external ceramic coating system with choice of finish.
CAM 4 is the full competition "Racespec" coating system.

When I asked Streetfighter about coating my headers, he told me that the main benefit was nearby component protection:)

Granted the larger diameter tubes will now be closer to other components. The long tubes and sports cats now being further back should actually run cooler and significantly reduce the heat levels under the hood over the stock restrictive headers as the gases would have been under far more pressure taking longer to escape through retaining and building higher heat levels in manifolds and cats.

It will be interesting to research this further with temperature sensors under the hood Between Stock, Long tubes and Ceramic Coated Long Tubes.

I think if you are going to be tracking the car for peace of mind it would be worth having it done at least externally.

I won't be tracking the car. Is there a way to calculate how many coats are needed and whether it needs to be done internally, externally or both ?

Spoke to Camcoat and they recommended the race spec, the other coatings are used more for looks, for people who take their cars to shows. They currently have a 3 week turn around from collection to return due to their work load.

I'm very impressed with the coating on my headers:thumbsup:

drove 20 miles to a mates garage on sunday, so that i could remove the O2 sensors which are right next to the cats...put the car on the ramp, and expected the exhaust to be to hot to touch so wore gloves:D

My mate didn't have any gloves on, and was gobsmacked when he touched the exhaust:eyebulge: We could grab a header and the cats with our bare hands:hail::clap2:
