I am considering asking the Ford dealer to add the Eibach PRO-KIT Performance Springs when I get the car in April, £144.99 list price, however what are they like, does anyone have them fitted?
Will they help the handling as I hear it has a 'bouncy' rear end that makes it less predictable? Do the lowered springs make the car harsh over poor UK roads? It is a GT not a light weight sports car.....

Thanks for any advice.

Eibach pro are just about the best out there.

Where have you found them for £144.99? Thats approx 1/2 of normal RRP.

They're £144.99 from Ford, it's on the new order books.

You'll be 'forced' to pay fords fitting fee, which is usually about £80 an hour, for a 2 hour job, so assume that will 'offset' the cheapness of the springs (they're usually about £300!)

Think in one of the other threads on Friday we were discussing it as they were in the new order brochure, can't find them atm as at work, and we've got a new stupid firewall which is being a total mong for everything :frusty:!

Should be able to ask your dealership about it, but I'm almost certain ford have to fit it, still, at £300 for a "proper" fit, isn't too shabby at all!

They are about £260 parts only from the online places I can find.

So £300 fitted at Ford (which means guaranteed work, too) is a bloody bargain.

Ive just called Evans Halshaw in Hull.

Part number is:

2105658

Price is £149.99

However fitting at Ford is 4hrs! So £400, which removes the bargain aspect if going for fully fitted.

They will quite happily sell you the springs for £149.99 though.

May as well, no reason not to, any local garage wouldn't make you pay £160 in fitting fee's, although, obviously will need to do tracking etc.

I have the Pro-Kit springs together with camber bolts (recommended) and spacers, 25f/23r. How they affect handling is a bit subjective but imo as the car corners flatter with minimal impact on comfort it is an improvement. It also make the car look a lot better, again imo.
As I remember it, it cost me about £300 to have them fitted at an independent Mustang specialist, including alignment.
Its not a total solution however. Planning on having uprated sway bars, cradle lockout and bushes fitted this year.

It is still not a bad price, £550 all in, I can tell you now at 4hr that is pretty quick, as the rear springs are an absolute ass to get out, a garage who is not familiar with the car could take longer and the cheapest you generally find these days is £50 per hour, so even if another garage does it in 4hr that is £200 labour, retail on the springs is £300, that is £500.

Best to just pay Ford the £550 for job done right, just make sure Ford include a full alignment in their fitted price and then it is not so bad. Also if your buying a new card, be cheeky, ask them to waiver the install fee or do it half price. ;)

As to the Pro Kit, its a good setup, nice stance, will corner flatter, only issue I have is they are progressive springs, I prefer linear. :)

Four hours for a professional mechanic in a fully equipped workshop is way too long.

There's a vid on YouTube from CJPP that show the procedure.

Took ME 4 hours start to finish and I hadn't done anything like that in years! :D

I'd recommend the rollbars as well. Made more of a difference than the springs. Neither had any effect on ride comfort/quality.

This.

I found the roll bars really upped the confidence levels in the car, and no adverse effect on ride quality. Again Eibach sell the bars and they work fine. :)

I have FRPP (no doubt made by Eibach) and I have them set to softest front and rear. :)
