Hey,

I just received my Steeda jacking rails in the mail and had a quick question. The instructions say "note: may need to remove seam sealant to get the mount flush."

Is this vital or is it okay if I install the jacking rails without removing the seam sealant? I would rather not remove the sealant.

I did not and all is good. Never read anyone suggest it was needed either.

Because of the sealant ... the jacking rail may not sit flush.

Once you install, take a peek & if all looks good, you are good to go!

We appreciate your order ... you are going to love them.

Right. I was just asking that if I didn't remove the sealant and it wasn't completely flush, would it hurt anything.

Mine sat flush and did not have to remove any.

You can check out this thread ... with the seal, the cars may not sit flush on all 4 jack stands - http://www.mustang6g.com/forums/showthread.php?t=60994&page=2

Give the jacks a try & see if they all sit flush ... if they do, then your good. If they don't, then you may have to look at the sealant.

Hope that helps!

Best Regards,

TJ

I shaved off some sealant so they would sit flush.

If they weren't flush when I bolted them on, I haven't noticed. ;)

Switch sides and see if that does the trick.

Please share photos if that does not work.

We can't be certain until we test fit the units on 2018 ... it will be one of the first tests we do.
