Looking at the Bullitt 17x10.5" Bullitt wheels with a 6.8" back space and +28 offset on my 2015 GT. American Muscle has them listed under the 1999-2004 section. Thinking about using them for 305/45-17 M/T ET Street Rs. Not sure if they would stick out of fender well or not. Also considering the 17x9 but thought those might be too narrow for the 305s. Anyone have input or maybe even pictures? May have to just run the 275s on the 17x9 but not sure how well they will perform when I add a 4C or 5C TC later. Thanks for any input.

I've got the race star's in 17 X 10.5" only the wheels for now. They are 7.625 BS, and 48 offset. They don't stick out at the top of the fender, but where the fender curves in at the bottom they stick out quite a bit due to the shape of the body.

I've yet to confirm anyone running the 10.5" wide wheel so I can't confirm any fitment issues yet. Hopefully I will have tires to go on them in a couple months.

I have 9" wheels in the back that are a 26offset and they sit flush so a 10.5 with that offset with definitely poke

I appreciate the feedback Hyland. I'm going to be making a purchase soon and trying to do my due diligence so I make an informed decision. Is your car an auto? I know you said you run a 275 and you hook with those. I know where I am right now that those would probably work fine, just not sure how they will do once I add a torque converter (4 or 5c) and then headers and a IM. I don't want to buy DRs and later kick myself for not getting 305s. I have a BMR Cradle Lockout and Steeda Diff bushings and right now I have no wheel hop, but I only have a CAI and tune.

Yeah my car is an auto. I'm not worried about my tires not being enough ever. 28" tall 275's are the most popular sized tires in racing. Tons of guys run 6's on them so there's no reason to go wider imo

I thought the 275s I saw were only 25.6" tall. Maybe yours are 50s or 60s

He has the M&H's which are 50 instead of 40 so 28"

Difficult to choose which setup to go with.

I'm torn between 26" or 28" setup. Everything I know says always go taller, but they are considerably more $, and considerably heavier. In the exact same boat as you, 275/40, or 305/45?...

Ive got 17x10's with some 305 Nitto 555 Drag radials and they fit fine. Here they are with the 20mm spacers still on

Im gonna sell the drag radials soon and get some bias ply tires being that mines a manual car.

The general consensus seems to be 26" tire if you have 3.15's and are NA, otherwise 28" tire is the way to go.

A 26" tall tire is plenty for a bolt on NA car. Especially an Auto car as its easier to make it hook. I ran a 275/40 Et Street R on my Auto full bolt on converter car. I picked up 3mph over the 28" tall tire and 1.63 60ft just footbraking the car. Its not hard to make these cars hook. I would go with the M&H or the Et Street Rs.

Im going to be selling my ET Street Rs if youre interested. They have 3 track passes and maybe 200 street miles on them. I'm going forced induction much sooner than I thought so I need a 28" now.

Thanks for the info WestCyril. Makes me feel better about going with the 275s. I think that is what I will do. I would be interested in your tires but shipping to Knoxville, TN from out west would likely be cost prohibitive. My zip is 37922 if you want to see what it would cost.

I have the 17x9 AM bullit replicas with 275 MT DRs which are 26". It hooked well with CAI, tune, cat back and stock suspension. The car is an auto with 3.55 gears.
