Mine is drinking 98 octane like it's fine wine!

I've just ticked 700km and I'm halfway through my third tank and struggling to get it under 19 lph.

I've done one run down the Southern Expressway at 100 kmph and it loves that and it dropped the average, but for my usual drives through Adelaide suburbia, it's a battle to get it under 20 lph, and I don't think I'm driving it hard at all!

I have reset my on board trip computer after each tank, otherwise your country drives help lower the average and gives a false reading in town.

My wallet hopes that my 3,000km service will somehow improve it!

Cheers
It DOES improve with kms. Just gotta be patient. I drive like a spastic and rarely see figures near the 20l/100 unless using e85, but that's a whole different ball game.

I've just clocked over 11000km and average 14.1km per 100. It's my daily driver and l live in the hills so i think that is not bad. I could probably get better if I drove more like a granny, but where's the fun in that :headbang::D

My average over 13,500Kms is 12.1 @ 48km/h (Auto GT Convertible)
In my defence, I did have the oil monitor go off at 11,000Kms (was reset at pre-delivery last November) !

Guys my 2017 GT manual only has 2000 km on the clock and averages 12-15 l/100 around town depending on right foot but I run 98 octane and get an outstanding 8.3 l/100 on the highway at a steady 100 km/hr! Stock setup except for Roush A/B mufflers.

Mmm... I usually average around 9.5-10l auto GT always in sport mode with paddles. I have left the second fuel consumption monitor alone since I got the car and the average there is roughly 11-11.5l. it's a 50-60km trip each way to work with probably half of that sat in traffic. Granted it's mostly freeway driving but it's a crawl into the city.

Running 98 octane BP ultimate but have noticed going to different petrol stations gives me different results. And now it's winter the average has gone up. Funnily I have an aftermarket exhaust, CAI (no tune) steeda jacking rails and a entire box of dynamat installed also. :headbonk:

800 km in and averaging 12.5/100km. Still very much running in so expecting it to drop further.

I had the opposite experience to most. My economy number came down after the first couple of weeks driving my auto GT, and were reasonably consistent at around 15l/100km until my 3000km service. I don't know what they did at that service, or whether it's a coincidence, but since then my economy has got worse and is now 16l/100km. Maybe tire pressure?

FYI - this is my daily drive, with about a 12km journey to work each day, with lots of slow moving stop start traffic and about half at 80km/hr on a motorway. Every time I fill up (usually 350-375km) I tell myself I will drive more economically, but I can't help accelerating when I can. I didn't buy a Mustang to be beaten from a standing start.

My 2017 GT Manual has averaged 13.2 l/100km since I got it over 3200km but my most efficient run was from the Sunny Coast to Brisbane last weekend over 100km from 80 to 110 km/hr and got 7.9 l/100km. Gotta be happy with that!

Has anyone tried to compare there computer fuel readings (the dash displays being posted here) to real data?

*Fill your tank and reset your trip meter.
*Drive a certain distance, doesn't really matter but more than 100km would probably be good.
*Refill your tank and take note of the amount of litres to refill your tank and take note of the amount kilometers on your trip meter,
*Now do the calculation and compare it to your computer reading.

For example, if you have covered 409km. and it has taken 59 litres to refill the tank,
the equation for litres per 100 km. should be 59 divided by 4.09, which will equal 14.4 litres per 100 km.

I'm in this boat, 900km in and 12.4/100km. Totally surprised, expected a lot worse. :clap2:

I've averaged 16 (exactly) over about the last 2000kms.
GT 'vert (auto).

A couple of longer trips have kept it in check, but it's a daily driver so it sees a bit of traffics
