Been having this pain in the but pop most noticeably during slow front rolls when applying sharp brake. It doesn't seem like an issue with any of the friction hardware as I've taken off and reinstalled all of it on that side. I've rechecked all of the nuts on all of the arms and spindle. This is the last attemp at figuring this out before taking it in to the dealership.

Thanks!

You drop a socket in the engine bay somewhere?

(I know I've done that and had a noise for months and then one day working on that car... out comes the missing f'ing 10mm. Of course it hit my head right on the eyeball.)

Is it only as you're coming to a stop and the weight is lurching forward?

Have you checked to make sure your calipers are tight? 85 lb ft.

What about the strut seating in the perch?

Yes, sir.

Interestingly enough the alighment kind of shifter over a few thousands to the right on both sides on its own over a period of 6 months, too. I know because i just had an alignment done two days ago.

I was actually looking for the other thread about this exact issue and found a new thread about this issue. I have this exact issue, sounds like my damn wheel might fall off lol.

Update - turns out it was the ball joint of the front control arm on the driver's side, the one responsible for the forward / back motion control of the wheel. There was a small gash in the boot, and I guess that that was enough for water and dirt to get in there and contaminate the ball and socket. Solid as new now that the arm has been replaced!
