So I have a 2017 GTPP and have about a grand to play with. I am debating between a cold air intake and tune, or suspension kits. I mostly use it for autocross and track days

What would you recommend

If your tight on money with a grand you should be able to get the intake / tuner / and maybe even an X pipe to get rid of that resonator and that GT sounding right . I couldn't stand how quiet it was stock

Don't waste your time adding power before you can get it to hook up.
Springs, sway bars, rear lower control arm bearings, toe bearings.
If you don't want adjustable sway bars like BMR, Steeda, whiteline etc. and want to upgrade from what you have.
Get these.

GT350/R front sway bar. Both are exactly the same. Diameter is 35mm
GT350/R front sway bar bushings
GT350R rear sway bar pt# FR3Z-5A772-E diameter is 24mm
GT350R rear sway bar bushings pt# F2GZ-5493-C
Your choice of springs. Or if you don't want your car lowered much if any at all you can get both front GT350R springs and 2 each of the GT350R rear springs.
Lower control arm bearings
Toe bearings
Lock out kit.

Don't waste your time or money buying adjustable toe links or vertical links.
Going with the oem ford GT350R parts would be the best bang for the buck.

This. My brother in law has lectured me on this many times before. This is the route I will be going.

Depending how serious your are about autocross and its classing, you may want to take serious look at what mods are allowed.

My suggestion for the first mod is replace the shifter with MGW/Barton. My MGW I still consider the best mod I have done to my car. You interact with it every time you drive and I couldn't stand the disconnected feeling of the stock shifter, especially missing 2-3 and 6-3 shifts with the factory shifter. Plus you will have some money left over for suspension.

Voodooo, what would the GT350R front and rear springs do for a stock car with no suspension mods? Not wanting to lower the ride.

If you've already taken it to the track, I'm sure you've seen the biggest problem is wheel hop. Coming out of a corner hard with the back end bouncing around is crazy. I called Steeda and focused on the wheel hop first. Right after that came springs soon followed by the sway bars with the need to control roll and bias understeer. The later was more fine tuning that wouldn't have been possible or at least would be more difficult without getting the IRS settled.

If he's wanting handling and doesn't want to lower it much the R springs are the perfect choice.
The R front springs are 240 lb/in
The R rear springs are 914 lb/in

I'm saying for $1000
I would do all the parts I listed above. Oem parts are cheap.

Really, the unsettled IRS got my money after a UPR 4 stage catch can and X-pipe so I could hear my GT, I did BMR cradle lock-out and J&M subframe bushings, next I'll BMR
brace the front underneath. Then as I master the torque I have I'll do power adder's.

Save money and skip intake.

Just get the tune ($200-$300)
SCT Tuner (purchase used for $250-$275)
Springs ($200-300)
IRS cradle bushing lockout ($200).

That should come in right around $1,000.
