I got tired of waiting around for the video from CJ's showing how to install the GT350 wheel, so I decided to just go for it. I couldn't find any instructions with pictures, so I took a few while doing my install. Hopefully they'll help the next guy.

Although I tried to document every step, follow at your own risk. I take no responsibility if you break something.

1. Disconnect the negative strap from the battery.

2. Use 3mm hex key tool press on springs to release airbag. Two holes are located behind the two horizontal steering spokes. You may want to practice on your new wheel to get the feel.

3. Disconnect airbag wires by pulling up on the orange tabs. Note the wires are color coded to match into bag.

4. Remove third plug from airbag by pressing down on small tab to release

5. Using T20 Torx screw driver, remove 8 screws that hold on trim

6. Use wide flat screw driver or narrow putty knife to pry up on silver trim pieces. Pry gently near edge of steering rim. The trim with controls have additional tabs that connect to the black plastic behind each spoke. Gently pry near the top of each of those. Use a small flat screw driver to press on tab to release wiring connector.

Highlighted the tabs on trim pieces.

7. Remove 2 additional Torx screws. Use a small flat screw driver to press on tab to release wiring connectors for the Cruise control and voice commands

8. Remove main gray wiring connector at top of steering wheel by pressing on tab to release

9. Use 24mm socket (15/16 works as well) to loosen bolt holding wheel on. Remove steering wheel.

10. Install new GT350 wheel, and tighten bolt to 35 ft-lbs

11. Install the rest of the pieces in reverse order. All the Torx screws are self-tapping. The silver Torx are easy to strip out, so just snug those. The black Torx should be tightened until they won’t turn anymore.

Sure hope they got that airbag thing fixed...

Thanks! It was easier than I expected. Only took about 45 minutes including the picture taking.

Great write up brother

Literally one day late for me

I waited as all for cj but gave up And just went for it

Is pretty straight forward but with your write up it is a piece of cake.

Thanks for the "how to". I'm still waiting on my wheel so this will help when it arrives.

Excellent write-up. Thank you. I guess this is for manual transmission only. The automatic will be a bit more complex because of paddle shifters.
