I have finally got my illuminated cup holders installed today! Mostly pic intensive thread here. I followed instructions on how to remove the center console top from CJ Pony parts shifter install video. Came out much easier then I thought without any broken clips. From there the cup holders are bolted to the top section of the console. Remove the bolts and replace the base model cup holder assembly with the new one.

I tapped into the shifter lighting circuit for my power. The OEM illuminated cup holders have 4 wires. One is of course ground but the other three are blue, green, and orange. These wires correspond to the RGB led. (Blue/Blue, Green/Green, Orange/Red) You can have almost any color that you would like by crossing different wires. I chose to cross the blue and green wires to achieve a more teal color that would closely match the OEM lighting.

Total install time was about 2 hrs. Most of the time was spent wiring/soldering.

Part Number of cupholder: FR3Z-6313562-BC

Looks great man!!! That is the only part of the whole ambient lighting I wanted. It is sad ford choose to not install the same body harness for all the cars. I understand the saving money but at the same time it is costing them money to buy different harnesses. Great install!!!

how much did you pay for the cupholder? Does that part number that you gave include a complete cupholder with the lighting built in?

To my knowledge it was around the $150 mark (got it as a birthday gift). The part number is for the complete cup holder assembly with the lighting installed!

Great mod.

Where to tap in if you have a 6SPD?

Welp, add this to the list of stuff I'm going to be spending my money on instead of saving up lol. Great DIY!

Next you need to document the hood handle LEDs. Those are the ones I REALLY want ;)

i have a premium so it has the lighting but its not working properly. do you think its a plug and play for the premium?
It is cause there is a connector on the cupholder part that you can unclip and reclip.
