This from Wikipedia.

The fourth generation Corvette was the first complete redesign of the Corvette since 1963. Production was to begin for the 1983 model year but quality issues and part delays resulted in only 43 prototypes for the 1983 model year being produced that were never sold. All of the 1983 prototypes were destroyed or serialized to 1984 except one with a white exterior, medium blue interior, L83 350 ci, 205 bhp V8, and 4-speed automatic transmission.[5] After extensive testing and modifications were completed, it was initially retired as a display sitting in an external wall over the Bowling Green Assembly Plant's employee entrance. Later this only surviving 1983 prototype was removed, restored and is now on public display at the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky. It is still owned by GM.[43][44] On February 12, 2014, it was nearly lost to a sinkhole which opened up under the museum. Eight Corvettes were lost.

Yes indeed! And supposedly there was one produced and kept in hiding by a former exec or shop foreman or someone until recently, or so I read in the last year or two. I'll see if I can google up a lie or two about it, LoL.
Yea I was thinking of getting a base model, plain jane, no ac, widow glass delete, tire optional one,,,,
But I think I made a better choice! :ford:

I think you did too.

No offense Brent, but I really don't care for the c7. They went from one of the best looking (c6) to about the worst in one jump, in my opinion lol

Congrats! Please do post pics. Just check on mine. Sitting at Burlington yard in KC. Slowly making it's progress to SD. Hopefully next week, just not when I'm in Texas for business though!

Damn, was I really only one day away? I knew it would be closer, but one day?! That's okay, I'm just happy she's home :)

Took her out the night she arrives & parked her next to, well, I've spot away, from an older DIB...I like my Kona do much better!
Grays man! Make sure you apply for first blue LE owner on the board.

Congratulations Mike and MandM, those are some beautiful cars!
Blue is my favorite color, I may have to trade mine in now!
But seriously, may you have many safe miles of adrenaline rushes and smiles!

And if you haven't found out yet Joey is right, people will start asking questions, then you will end up sharing the history of Mustangs so you can share how special it is.
I still dont see how any of you all waited, I feel so lucky!

Again Congratulations and Be Safe, them Ponies are Potent! :)
Thanks, I definitely can't believe my Irish luck was good, for the first time in decades!
So happy she's home, we definitely feel lucky she arrived so early.
For those of you still waiting, it is sooooo worth it, hang in there!
