You will probably have to connect both turning and parking lights connectors to it. From 0:19 you can see the parking light (bright amber) and the side markers light (dim amber).
Don't see how it can detect when to light up the front sidemarker light.. (though not used in UE..?!)

For parking, well, this amber solo LED is really ugly for me, I think this housing will be opened to add a few nice withe LED's for DRL and parking

Not to replace the existing things, just add something new in the lightMmm I'm not sure they are user replaceable..
Upper the turn LED area, you have a lot of Black plastic, at this place you can add a DRL LED stripe with a dimm option for night use
