  1. Body panel alignment issues

If the number really is 50% of forum members having body panel alignment issues I would actually draw the opposite conclusion - that Ford has a significant issue with QC. 800 cars is a large enough sample size that I would assume it'd be fairly representative of the general population. The...
  2. Hello Canucks!

Ford interest rates seem to fluctuate wildly - at least according to their builder. I remember last summer I was looking at rates on 2014s and they were in the 5%-6%+ range on the website. Playing around with builds now, they have 0.99% for up to 60 months, then 1.99% for 72. A salesperson...
  3. Anyone have any regrets EB vs GT vs Premium package?

Apologies if I came across as condescending - I chose my words poorly. What I was trying to get across was that with the new generation Ford seems to have been trying to build two different cars - the GT to stick to the traditional V8 pony car formula and the lighter EB to offer a better...
  4. Anyone have any regrets EB vs GT vs Premium package?

This is more of a question for the Ecoboost owners around here. When the Ecoboost was first announced, the sales pitch was that it would be a significantly better handling car than the GT. When the weight and power specs were released, it seems expectations that the Ecoboost would handle...
  5. Hello Canucks!

I'm curious about this. I don't have much experience with haggling. How do you get a dealership to move off the sticker price? I assume it would be possible if a dealer had a lot of inventory they were eager to move but for something with more limited supply, what incentive do they have to...
  6. Hello Canucks!

Ah, thanks for the tip. My trade in won't be worth much so I'm not worried about being lowballed. I might have to check out their dealer network this spring. I'm guessing there won't be much negotiating room off X-plan so I'm basically limited to referral bonuses and the Costco discount (if it...
  7. Hello Canucks!

What's the GoAuto card program? I'm in Calgary but I'd be willing to drive the 3-ish hours to Edmonton for $500. I qualify for X-plan through my employer but every extra little bit helps!
  8. Second thoughts on GT PP

It seems your preference is already set and the only sticking point is price. Exterior - In terms of looks I'm guessing you "like" the Mustang but prefer the Challenger (you "personally like the styling of the 2015" but love your current Challenger and think the styling of the 2015...
  9. X-Plan on New Mustang

For Canadians I think it's going to be tough to beat X-plan plus Costco rebate. I think together they should come in lower than A-plan by at least a few hundred dollars (although you should be able to apply it to A-plan as well).
  10. X-Plan on New Mustang

Here's the old disclaimer for the Costco deal Ford Canada used to have on their site:
  11. X-Plan on New Mustang

I think Ford takes away the $1,000 Costco rebate during employee pricing. My google fu might just be too weak but I can't find anything about the rebate in the US. I wonder if the $1,000 rebate might just be for Costco/Ford Canada. Canadians don't get access to the Costco US car buying program...
  12. X-Plan on New Mustang

Not sure if its the same in the US but in Canada Costco members get $1000 off any Ford except the Fiesta and one of their other really cheap models (those get $500). I think you might have to have been a member for at least six months and it's not applicable to some special models (ie. Raptor...
  13. X-Plan on New Mustang

I believe the rules are that X/Z/A plan pricing can be combined with incentives available to the public (this is based on the Canadian x- plan rules but US should be the same). This would mean a $1000 Costco credit can be used (since anyone can sign up for a Costco membership) but any military...
  14. FYI: Employee pricing is available on 2015 Mustangs in Canada!

I plugged the postal code given for Vancouver city hall (V5Y 1V4) into the 2014 Mustang builder on the Ford site and it's giving the freight as $1,600, same as for my Alberta postal code. I can't see Ford keeping freight the same on the 2015 in Alberta but jacking it up in BC. Like Papaya...
  15. Check my math: EcoBoost saves ~$15k vs GT over lifetime?

I've been wondering about power loss at altitude a bit as well. Calgary isn't as high up as Denver but it's still around 3,500 feet. I've found an article discussing this and they pulled the following formula from a Jeep forum: bhp loss = elevation in feet / 1000 x 0.03 x bhp at sea level...
  16. X-Plan on New Mustang

Great thanks for the tip. I'll probably look around southern Alberta first but I'll definitely give him a shot if I can't find any there here.
  17. Who cares how many cylinders a mill has!?!?

It's going to be tough to find anything in a manual transmission in 5-10 years, not just a V8. Given the performance and efficiency gains automatics have over manuals, plus the diminishing number of drivers who know how to drive stick, it'll be hard for car manufacturers to justify making any...
  18. Any Canadians ordered their mustang yet?

I don't really blame the dealers considering they probably move ten F-150s for every Mustang and the margins for the F-150s would likely still be significantly greater. I read an article on the new F-150 in Fortune and they were saying if Ford sold nothing but F-150s they would still be a...
  19. FYI: Employee pricing is available on 2015 Mustangs in Canada!

I plugged VRYALT3R3D's order into unhaggle's builder and here's what I came up with. I apologize for the formatting (or lack thereof). The MSRP is the price on the left, unhaggle's invoice price is the one on the right. Base: $42,499.00 $38,529.00 401A...
  20. Any Canadians ordered their mustang yet?

Yeah I love the look and I'm 99% sure the drive will be fantastic but it's that 1% I'll need a test drive to deal with. I've heard the ecoboost is good but doesn't give quite the same kick in the pants feel of the GT. I want to take both for a spin to find out exactly how much difference there is.
