Not necessarily true. Try googling 'mustang svo exhaust' on youtube. You'll find some pretty good sounding 4 cylinders.
Here's just one I found after 2 clicks: [ame]
I'm sure there are better quality recordings, ect.
Out of curiosity, does anyone know what effect (if any) having the mufflers...
The intercooler looked like it was a pretty decent size. Did it have enough air flow across it?
Also, isn't the integrated exhaust manifold cooled by the engine coolant as well? I could has sworn I read that somewhere. Wouldn't that likely increase engine coolant temps when the turbo is at high...
Here's an interesting read about the 2.7L ecoboost motor. Something I never knew; it's a 2 piece iron and aluminum block.

It's actually intake air from the turbo, not exhaust. And the reason it exists is when you let off the gas the trottle body butterfly closes and the forced air for the turbo has no where to go, so it is either vented to atmoshphere or rerouted back to the intake of the turbo.
One of the...
Sure, hold tight while I go do that...
K, we can compare readings...
Sarcasm aside, I didn't imply any of you should monitor the sensors (well not those that don't have the car). But some people's theories were being posted as facts w/o any data to back it up.
So much speculation in this thread, it's actually pretty funny. All it takes is a little monitoring of sensors to put the speculation to rest and find why power is reduced.
Any idea why ford put the air intake box on the drivers side?
Seems like it would have made better sense to but it on the turbo side. Less plumbing, less elbows, turns, ect.
Since I was the one that originally asked what the boost was I'll explain why. When you know what it is stock and know the amount it was increased it tells you a little something about the motor, turbo, and fuel system.
Now maybe they increased power by something other than more boost. But...
Sure it does, if I'm curious it matters to me. I don't just want to know what it can run, I like the details.
I'll reread the first post for anything i missed. Thanks for the heads up.

I wonder how much in weight savings was done since the interiors seem gutted, besides the dash and drivers seat.
Also curious how much boost it was running.
Thanks!
I been refreshing the last page of this thread for the last couple days looking for updates :o
even went to the facebook post and scanned through all the comments. Looks like I failed.
I've read every page of this thread. The one in the ecoboost section. Ford Racings Facebook page. Still waiting for the video and details. I know ken said some things to set people straight, but that's not the full details.
Is there something I overlooked or missed?

I can't wait for the video and further details. If the 2.3 has a decently sized turbo that allows it to get those gains with just intake, exhaust and a tune (w/ most likely more boost).. that makes me want to buy one.
Has any info been released on what turbo it has? The Mercedes-Benz CLA45 AMG...
